I was so looking forward to my Thane-romancing Shepard, but after hearing that his romance got the shaft both contentwise and gameplay-wise (not even eligible for the achievement!), I've decided to put her playthrough on hold until I know for sure whether it will be fixed or not. I'm so not wasting one of my favourite Shepards ever on a (imo) faulty playthrough. I built so much of her personality on her feelings of betrayal (from Kaidan) and her awakening to love again together with Thane, who was going through a similar experience.

I'm not looking to cure Thane or anything, just a more satisfying conclusion to a beautifully tragic but poignant relationship. How did this happen? Wasn't there anyone on Bioware who appriciated Thane as a character? :(

I, completely agree with you in regards to them just completely forgetting him. It was so jarring to get back from the citadel and not have a single person mention Thane, or even have Shepard mention it for that matter. We just get his name on wall, oh and Kai Lang... stabbing him was somewhat satisfying >:)

I think we all agree with you there!

Hi everyone. Important development over on the Thane Fanbook page.

We've now got a group on DeviantART!

We've got hanar, cosmochyck, LYDLYD, ANGUA33 and EFLECK (OH MY GODS!!!) contributing to this! So everyone, head over there, contribute whatever you have laying around (but keep it clean - though definitions of clean are open to yamainu's and possibly even my (if she lets me) interpretation. Well, I'd personally accept an artistic nude, or a fanfic that includes erotica if it's essential to the plot of the story, but then I am an artist and am fine with stuff like that. Doesn't mean it's the best stuff to send off).

Any questions you've got, send them to either yamainu or myself on DA, or join The Thane Fanbook Project here on the BSN,

"Kolyat? Why did the last verse say "she?" .. "The prayer was not for him, Commander. He has already asked for forgiveness for the lives he has taken." "His wish.. was for you"

That whole scene gets me so sad. Hopefully all the ME2 romances get a DLC that suits there relationship and isn't generic for all of them.

I feel bad for you guys, but Thane told you he was dying from the start so you knew what you were getting into, and I doubted Bioware would be kind enough to give his story a happy ending. Who I really feel sorry for though are the Jacob romancers, I mean that was just cruel...

I agree :) I don't want to be punished just for picking a character that wasn't as popular as the others. The developers made him romanceable, and then they just decided other fans were more important than us.

If you bothered to read the first page then you would know why we are angry.
If you don't agree than why are you here. Why waste your time and ours on a character you clearly don't care about.

There's a lot of Jack posters now that are just saying "More Jack!" in the BioWare thread. I feel like it's giving the rest of us ME2 romancers a bad name that they aren't even putting up good reasons for why they want her.

Yes, we KNOW he's dying. We're not deaf. We heard it and read it as clearly as everyone else. What we're angry about is that BioWare not only continually hinted at a cure to Kepral's Syndrome throughout ME2 through conversations, messages, and LOtSB content, but the staff itself continually hinted that there would be one.

Then, ME3 comes around, and not only is there no cure, there less than NO acknowledgement of a romance with Thane. Like every other ME2 romance (with the exceptions of Garrus and Tali), there's maybe 3 or 4 dialouge differences between Shepards who are friends and Shepards who are lovers. To say it was dissappointing would be a massive understatement. Then- his death. Not only did romaced Shepard show practically no sorrow at his being mortally wounded, she just ran off without so much as a "I'll find you afterwards!" She should have AT LEAST acted like it was hard to leave him. And when he's in the hospital, there's not even so much as a "I love you" from either of them.

This was confusing until we found out BIOWARE COMPLETELY FORGOT THANE WAS A ROMANCE AND ADDED IN LINES LAST SECOND. THIS IS WHY WE ARE ANGRY AND WANT CHANGES. NOT because he dies, which we could accept IF IT WAS AT LEAST A DECENT SCENE. And it's not.

(PS, sorry about the double post but I didn't see LaurenShepard's post until after my last one and I had to say something.)

To be fair, while all the ME2 LI's were neglected, even Jack and Miranda who arguably got the "best" treatment in ME3, still had a shamefull lack of dialogue, interaction and screen time.

Just post a link to the Take Back the Love thread, where they discuss all the ME2 Li's, that there's strength in numbers.

Sorry, I didn't mean to make it sound like they don't have a valid issue. I just meant that I think that BioWare is more likely to take the complaints seriously as a whole if we all have valid, posted reasons for wanting more of Jack or Thane or anyone.

Voted for our favorite Drell too. I know lots want Aria and I'm fine with that, probably will happen and I don't care, as long as whatever characters they want to add via DLC don't set up camp in Life Support. I won't download it.

In a word? NO. His writer, Chris I think, left and no one cared enough after that to actually do anything. They admitted "dropping the ball".

It felt like a LOT of things were rushed with the story and characters. It's the only reason I can think of that they had so many cut scenes with NO dialogue choice. Less story-telling.

Of course for me most of the Thane content was totally out of character for both Thane and my Shep. And the prayer was lovely, but there should have been specific content for romanced Shep.

Oh to repeat oneself day after day after day after day after....

Thane has 2 dialogues -- one of which is his death.

The death is not different for a romanced Shepard beyond a Siha and her goodbye line.

Thane doesn't lock you out of other romances, so after he dies, it's UNCOMFORTABLE FLIRTING time, god help you.

For my money, the fact that he dies is the least of the problems. :P

Voted! Going to begin work on that video project soon.

I'm going to do my best to highlight all the reasons we love Thane, and want more of him in Mass Effect 3. I'm attempting to finish it as quickly as possible, but I want to make sure it's up to snuff (to my standards, anyway).

Trying to do whatever I can to help. Unfortunately, I'm not artistically inclined in a traditional sense... so, this is the best I can do!

(I did manage to grab some art for the fanbook, however)  <3
