hm.. what kinda annoys me that Bioware has not address the issues with ME2 romances. I'm starting to think they already had a plan behind this or the endings issue is over shadowing everything else. Either way, it's starting to really get on my nerves.

Voted! Going to begin work on that video project soon.

I'm going to do my best to highlight all the reasons we love Thane, and want more of him in Mass Effect 3. I'm attempting to finish it as quickly as possible, but I want to make sure it's up to snuff (to my standards, anyway).

Trying to do whatever I can to help. Unfortunately, I'm not artistically inclined in a traditional sense... so, this is the best I can do!

(I did manage to grab some art for the fanbook, however)  <3

Awesome, post a link to the video when you finish!

And again, I'm sorry that I've been unable to do any fanart this weekend D:
Next weekend spring break starts (no more college courses for a week!) so I should have some more time

Wishlist for Thane

1. OPTION for a cure/prolonged life. Doesn't have to be puppies and rainbows. Have him live to the end of the game and get stranded with the rest of them :D (it also shouldn't be an easy, magic-wand type deal)
2. If he dies, have Shepard react appropriately.
3. If he dies, have the crewmates react appropriately
4. Show him in the final flashback instead of Liara
5. Fix the graphics issues (Shep's hands are like a foot above Thane's when they greet)
6. Stop forcing us toward the VS. We went to the Citadel to see Thane, not VS
7. Happy times with Thane that unlock the Paramour achievement.

Could someone put this up on the BioWare thread? I don't know if someone's already done it, but it couldn't hurt to have someone do it again to keep the topic open: http://social.biowar...ex/10098213/206

I'd do it myself, but since I've already posted a couple times, I might be pushing my luck.

EDIT: ALSO, just realized something: BioWare promised Love Triangles and romanced ME1 and ME2 characters duking it out over Shepard. There was NONE of this, just Kaiden or Ashley asking about the 'affair' or the ME2 romance asking if things were going to be continued. VERY dissapointed by this too. I wanted a Garrus/Kaiden shoutout and a Thane/Kaiden argument too. I can see it in my mind... Kaiden getting angry, Thane using subtle insults... Beauitful.

I'll post it! I've posted before too but I don't think anyone will notice.
I know, that's the only reason I kept Kaidan alive and romanced him. I wanted to see him get upset over Thane ;) I'm a little bit evil.

I WANTED THAT TOO! I would have LOVED to see Thane shut Kaiden down and have both he and Garrus say something along the lines of "When Shepard needed you the most, you abandoned her, and I was here when she needed it. She deserves better than you."

And thank you so much for posting that up! I appreciate it a lot! I just don't want it to go unmentioned for too long in case they forget peoples still want that.

Haha exactly, that's what I was expecting. Ugh it's so sad to think about how high my expectations were for this game. I actually thought there would be a real Thane romance.
No problem, it was a great post. I'm trying to keep posting there as often as I can without getting too obnoxious. Hopefully there are enough posts about Thane for bw to notice.

There's a lot of posts about giving ME2 romances equal treatment, so even if it doesn't mention Thane specifically, they're at least getting the idea. And at least one or two people posts about Thane and Jacob every few pages, so I think the message is getting across that a good number of people want this. I just hope they pay attention to it. Maybe in a couple pages I'll go back and say something about wanting the jealousy arguments that were promised to us as well.

I think they should do a DLC where it fixes the ONE romance from ME2, so if you romanced Jack, it applies ONLY to Jack, or if you romanced Thane, it applies ONLY to Thane. That way at least the entire game won't be shook up a ridiculous amount. They can even make it time-sensitive if they want, i.e. it only works for Thane if you do the mission before the attack on the Citadel.

It would also be super, AT THE VERY LEAST, that they patch the ridiculousness that is Liara's face in my flashback.  Yikes!

Everyone who has ever posted on this thread seriously needs to sign THIS!  It's a petition for ME2 romance improvements in ME3!

Special thanks to Cosmochyck for showing it to me!

PS, maybe it's already up here, but for those of us who haven't been posting as long as others, I figured it'd be good to get it out there.

I've been trying to bring up other aspects that are lacking, like the ME2 romances treatment, especially adding more with Thane, in the Retake groups. I do think the least of Bioware's worries are romance related and that if they do do something to appease fans it'll be the bare minimum ending related. I think we have to keep this and the other Thane thread and groups up to make sure they see we also aren't happy with what we got!

Also voting on anything I find! It'd be great to get a list together so that those of us who can't be on the forums a lot see them and they don't get buried.

I'm not even a Thane fan and I was shocked by the treatment of his romance arc. I wondered how they were going to work it in there, since there's not much time with him at the hospital, and then I watched the cutscenes and...oh. They just didn't. I especially love how his culmination in ME2 was about how he'd woken up and had hope again and was going to actually live and then...'nah nevermind I'm done with that'. It's like a slap in the face. Even if there is no cure (which is funny, since apparently the entire goddamn genophage can be cured in about fifteen minutes), there should have been some kind of option to extend his life if you romanced him. Lung transplant, medigel, apply Mordin directly to disease, whatever.

I can't help but wonder about how the ending has impacted people's views of ME3. It's totally overshadowed any other legitimate complaints about the game. For good reason, yes, but I can't help but think if Bioware does do anything with the ending they'll just go 'all complaints addressed, alright, perfect' and leave it at that.

The ending was just the final straw for me. There is no replayability in this game as far as I'm concerned.

So well put!!   And we agree - some of us have the FB page in our sigs for support.  There were other issues in the game other than the endings (bugs, textures etc.) and I hope most get addressed - not just the endings!  We need more Thane!!  :wizard:

Loved the "apply Mordin directly to disease." I wish we could do that.

The endings are the main reason I can't even muster up the strength to really hate what Bioware did to Thane. It's making me feel guilty because I was so looking forward to continue it in ME3 and now suddenly I can barely talk about him anymore because it just reminds me how idiotic game companies can become.

Instead my brain had just decided to skip Thane's existance in ME3 and run with that it didn't happen. I didn't think my mind would do that to anything ever, because it sounds so far fetched, but it's really what has happened here. I just refuse to accept it.

Bioware's the company that made me regard games with suspicion and fear of investing time into them now... as "dramaqueenish" it sounds.

Thank you for your support, enormousmoonboots (which is a fun name, btw). We appreciate your input and the fact that you're not calling us idiots for wanting an LI to live and have a fulfilling dialogue like pretty much every other LI out there, except for Jacob. Oh, and Jack. Oh, and Miranda too... Man, 4/6 ME2 romances suck. How's that for quality?

Thanks so much to everyone who has participated, anyone who wants their unimported Shepard added just PM me, there are 3 spaces left and I'm happy to add an extension if needed.

Sorry it looks a bit rough, I had to get it mostly finished this weekend so I didn't have time to spend on perfection :D
I'll be posting to BW it on Tuesday.

I'll be adding the BSN names of everyone who participated tomorrow, please let me know if you don't want me to do this.

Thank you, I have big tears right now.  It is nice to know that someone who is not really a fan can feel our pain.  I think so many people are focused on the ending that they overlooked the other things that were wrong.  Have I seen, "wel I had XYZ as a romance" but the ending was so bad, I can't replay it.  Well, there goes some other opinions and voices to add to those who did actually see the pain that is the Thane romance (can we really call it that in ME3).

I am hoping by us trying to be as loud as we can, that we won't just get swept under the rug because of all the uproar over the endings...or ending, really depends on how you look at it.  I won't give up on Thane or any other LI that got the shaft until I hear these words, "we are going to fix it".  Even if they say, "sorry, we are leaving it as it stands now", I will let them know at every turn that there is an unhappy camper out there.
