I think it's just the way Twitter works, though I'm new to it myself:

If they don't reply, then it doesn't show up on their page. I think it might be the same with replies, if they don't reply, then your comment won't show up.

Haha true true, it's mostly because I don't use Twitter though. I thought fb was a mess until i got used to it, and that's probably the easiest to use out of all of them
