The fact they ignored all the development of Thane's relationship with Shepard in Mass Effect 2 really bothered me. It was cold and nearly emotionless. Like Cosmo said, it seemed like he was just a 'lover' to Shepard and not someone she truly loved. This is definitely not the case, especially after reading the LotSB letter for the first time.

His behavior towards her wasn't any better. What happened to the caring, poetic Thane that we saw in ME2? He just seemed... completely detached, fallen back into his morose/cold state.

The whole encounter was incredibly off, especially if you romanced him.

I would have loved it, too. <3
They would have needed to make a shirtless model of his character. Which is unlikely since none of the alien-centered love scenes ever show much (Liara is the exception). D:

BioWare didn't even bother with a shirtless model for Thane's death scene. He'd been stabbed and went through surgery but he was still wearing that snazzy jacket when he died in his hospial bed.

Yeah I had wondered how they managed to sew him up and keep his suit perfectly in tact.  While him being out of that suit would have been more realistic, I also know me, I probably would have been paying less attention to what was being said.  Unlike Kaidan's scene after Mars, he was laying there shirtless and I didn't even blink, not a thought went across my mind except, "oh ffs put a shirt on him, i'm not interested."  However, if it had been Thane laying there, I would not have left the room, that would be my whole game right there.  :o

You said it! I'd still be in that room too and not complaining about the whole fiasco here...

One thing I wanted to say:

Trolling Bioware is probably going to make them shut down, more than listen. Try to stick to constructive tweets, as they'll be more receptive to that. Just my opinion, as I think we may be getting a tad overboard here...

No harm in making repetitive tweets constructive...

Question: Why did Jacob cheat? Concern: Why was Jacob only LI to cheat. Criticism: Why was it only FemSheps romances failed?

Hey, they asked, in that order...

Yep.  Just want them to know our concerns and actually listen, rather than dismissing them.

I feel like as long as our questions are done in a respectful tone instead of just being completely antagonistic, they'll be okay with it. I mean, they've still got hundreds of people complaining about the ending and they haven't told them to shut up yet, and there's some REAL jerks in that group. Or rather, there were before the rules about behavior towards mods and such were really cracked down on.

Yeah, looks like ten tweets in as many minutes about the endings there.

I think it's important that our voices are heard as long as we keep it polite and constructive. It's part of the creative process to be critiqued. Also, seeing all the great ideas and suggestions on BSN alone shows that fans care about the series and can do so eloquently and politely.

I just saw another thread related to the Retake movement in regards to the ending where fans have donated to send cupcakes to Bioware. http://social.biowar...5/index/1065888
It's an interesting way of expressing what they found wrong with the game in a memorable way while at the same time doing so nicely. Thane cupcakes, anyone?

I forget who's officially in charge of the Facebook thread, but maybe if they put a link up to the BioWare Feedback thread, we could get some more pro-Thane/pro-better ME2 LI treatment posters up there.

Here's the link: http://social.biowar...ndex/10098213/1

What's this about cupcakes and what can we do for Thane?

I must have messed up the link
Check this:

Maybe we could do the same, only with Thane cupcakes.

They seemed to have set up a donation through ChipIn. Maybe we could contact the same cupcake company?

I think that in the favor of getting LOTS of people interested in the cupcake idea, we should have 4 different types of cupcakes, one for each of the neglected ME2 LI's. So, green icing for Thane, chocolate for Jacob, vanilla for Miranda, and I guess... I don't know what a good flavor for Jack would be. I'd say rainbow in honor of her tattoo, but pretty sure that she doesn't like rainbows.

Ohh, that sounds like a great idea!

We should make a separate thread for them... and what color for Jack...

That would increase the amount of cupcakes we could potentially send and promote it on several pages and threads. They should have names, intials, or something on them too. Red for Jack? Also, would it be equal amounts of cupcakes or represent the choice of the donators?

OH! For Jack maybe we could have a mixed batter, like Marble Cake and a mixed vanilla-chocolate icing. Or use semi-sweet chocolate, so it's got just a hint of bitterness to it.

And we could have their names on them, and shorten them if we need to, like Miri for Miranda and Jake for Jacob. Thane and Jack are pretty easy.

Just dropping in quickly to say love the cupcake idea!
AND I was just talking to 2 guys that loved Thane, and I quote "he was totally badass, how could they kill him off?"
One of them was actually hoping that when he went to see him in the hospital it was to do a quest to find a cure!!! So we're not just "fangirling!!!"
Ok I might be....*drools at smexy zipper*

And where's PDS? I miss her. My Shep has been drinking alone in Life Support for what seems like days now....

Where do we go to look up the information, about the cupcakes, and how we set this up? >_< *excited*

Okay, I took this off the original thread and has the basic information for what they did and how they did it:

Ok, I have spoken to a bakery located really close to Bioware studio's. They are called:
http://www.fusscupcakes.com

The approximate cost for this is $1005.00. That includes delivery, attaching our notes and letters, and having some photos taken of our creation. Note** Owner was kind enough to drop the price due to bulk.

There will be 402 Cupcakes. The cupcakes will be equally divided into three colors: Red, Blue and Green. Each color cupcake will have the corresponding letter 'A', 'B', 'C'

The company DOES NOT have a paypal account. That means that I will have to place the order, and take contributions directly to my own paypal, and pay for it that way. Will have a final figure in the next hour.

IN ADDITION:

Every single person who contributes, will be able to write a brief note to be attached to the cupcakes. We will also, as a community, write a letter from all of us to Bioware.

These cupcakes can be delivered by the end of the week. Personally, I'm shooting for Thursday or Friday, since that's well in advance of PAX.

So that's what they did. Obviously we can tweak the cupcake thing for our own use, but the information is still good.

I believe this is the company they used:

Not sure how to start up a ChipIn Donation page.

Edit: You beat me to it Yermogi :)

I'm sure we can ask the person who set it up originally about that. Maybe they'll even pitch in and get others involved too!

Hn, so it seems we'd have to get someone to front it?
