You people are going over board. The fan art book is enough, it's a fantastic idea. But the cupcake thing on top of someone else doing a cupcake thing for ME3? I already thought that the first cupcake thing was an obnoxious troll on the behalf of the fan base.

Please do not do this. It is too embarrassing for this Thane fan girl.

We've been waiting to hear feedback from people, it's just an idea at this point. :)

I don't see what's wrong with it. It's pretty hard to ignore 400 ABC cupcakes. At the very least, they'd have to think about it while they take the time to trash them or eating them. It wouldn't just be for Thane fans, but all ME2 LI's.

We could do something else, but something in addition to the cupcakes would be a good, tangible source of support... would also give us something to do besides troll twitter and battle trolls that think Thane died a hero....

Yeah, the fanbook is nice and I'm good with that.  Let's just keep voicing our opinions in a respectful manner and concentrate on some lovely art to send to Bioware.

I really don't like that cupcake idea either. For me that's a little bit too much especially when other people are already doing it for the endings. It's funny and attention grabbing of course but I think the fan art book is better suited for Thane. There has to be other ways to get their attention other than sending cupcakes I would think.

I tend to like the fanbook idea more than the cupcakes too. I'm afraid the message will get lost since it's being done by another group already.

I really want to let Bioware know, in a way that catches their attention in a positive way, that Thane was more than Mr. Kepr Al Syndrome (Viisi's!) to fans. Edit: and all other neglected characters!

Sounds good.....Visii is awesome goddess, but I was the one who came up with Mr. Kepr Al Syndrome.  Image IPB

Full credit goes to coldwetn0se. But yay, I'm an awesome goddess.

And I'd decided to not be so.. well, demented on Twitter but I couldn't help it:

When it comes down to heart and dedication, the fanbook is the best by far. Anyone can collect some money and send out an order. Putting your heart and soul into a drawing, story, poem, or whatever takes time and a love for the object of that creation. I would be more touched to see a bunch of people love a character I created get so much adoration and attention. Just my thoughts though.

About the artbook...could someone link me to information on it? What about people who can't donate art? (I do have something I'm working on that I would like to include though.)

Decided to pop back in for a moment because I'm not sleepy yet... If people don't want to do the cupcake thing, then it's fine, we don't have to. It would certainly be easier on the pockets and wallets lol.

Thane did die a hero, it's just hardly any one recognized him for it. That's my problem with all of it. He became nothing but his illness and a death scene, when we know his character is more than that.

Yes, this is what bothered me too.  Nobody remembers him, no one mourns him or points out the good things he accomplished.  As if he never existed.  He deserved better.

Just Bioware being lazy.
People mentioned Mordin, but not one person said anything about Thane.
It's not like they didn't know him either.

I dunno, there's just so many people that had some kind of relation to the game that I'm amazed.
I mean, I totally don't blame them or anything and I have no idea what happened, but I'm surprised none of even like the voice actors thought to ask about it. Like, if I was Jennifer Hale or anyone else with talent I'd ask why Thane went poof in a totally nice way. Maybe they did and it just didn't change anything idk. I'm just like. I don't know. Oddly burnt out.

This may be why...

http://thegaminglibe...rview-part-two/

"Keythe Farley (Thane)- I wish it were more glamorous. I
get the scenes I’m recording the night before, and I read them over a
couple of times to get familiar with them. Ginny McSwain was the VO
director on this game. She and I have very similar backgrounds in the
theatre, and because we’re both VO directors, we have a lot to gossip
about, but we eventually get down to work. I recorded all of my dialogue
alone, so all I see on the page were my lines and sometimes a lead in
line from another character. If there is a crazy word or name (Kolyat
springs to mind) Bioware had provided a pronunciation glossary to make
sure all pronunciations were consistent. I play my part in the scenes
and four hours later, I go home or off to the next job. I had five or
six four-hour sessions on MASS EFFECT 2."

Um, I've been at work at day and have no idea what anyone is talking about (cupcakes). I guess if I had my pick, I'd stick with the fanbook. I just wish I had something to contribute. I am in no way or form and artist. I'm just one step down from an accountant IRL. :(

@_@!

You don't have to draw to contribute. You could write your own version of dialogue between Shepard and Thane when the two of them meet again. I might do a one-shot, and I'm getting my friend to draw some Thane pics.

Lol. You could have Shepard being like that and Thane playing along, keeping it classy. He's so suave, but he has a sense of humor; it'd be an interesting thing to read.

I might just have to walk around with paper and a pen. My inner dialogue strikes at the weirdest times. Most recently in the shower, but that's well, it's something.

What is the time frame for the fan book?
