"Keythe Farley (Thane)- I wish it were more glamorous. I
get the scenes I’m recording the night before, and I read them over a
couple of times to get familiar with them. Ginny McSwain was the VO
director on this game. She and I have very similar backgrounds in the
theatre, and because we’re both VO directors, we have a lot to gossip
about, but we eventually get down to work. I recorded all of my dialogue
alone, so all I see on the page were my lines and sometimes a lead in
line from another character. If there is a crazy word or name (Kolyat
springs to mind) Bioware had provided a pronunciation glossary to make
sure all pronunciations were consistent. I play my part in the scenes
and four hours later, I go home or off to the next job. I had five or
six four-hour sessions on MASS EFFECT 2."

oh
well
ok
that's just
-kidappropriate- depressing

but.
thank you for quote.
very nice/sad that Keythe suffered too. idk again.

I guess you could see that as depressing or you could see the voice actors, who did an amazing job, as not being responsible for the script problems. I'm sure the voice actors would have loved having more lines and work.

I could never see the voice actors as being the problem. I only didn't like Liara's lines right when you found Javik or how Shep was all cold at some points. It wasn't "oooh aaaah" enough or "waaah waah" for me but I seem to complain about a lot of things so it's okay to ignore that. xD The rest was good.
Yeah he sounded like he wanted a lot more lines. If I just had the money to actually pay them what they deserve, and if I could figure out how to use something beyond Windows Movie Maker, man I would do anything to get them to just talk more. Anything. Can even be about phonebooks.

I mean from 6 hour sessions to an overall 4 hours?
How could the devs not notice you're doing it wrong.

This made me squee a little (from the same interview):

Keythe Farley (Thane)-The script is so good. The
character is so beautifully fleshed out. It was my job to simply get out
of the way and let the story tell itself. I love the speeches where
Thane explains that he is merely a weapon in someone else’s hand. He’s
so detached. But then there is the loyalty mission where he wants to
stop his son from following in his footsteps. He’s a deep thinker and a
deep feeler, but not overtly. It’s hard to play that duality vocally– to
maintain a stiff upper lip despite the fact that you are scared to
death or madly in love or furiously angry.  Normally, you play that all
in the eyes, and fortunately the animators did an amazing job of
bringing a soul to Thane.

I like to think he was talking about Thane being madly in love with Shep (but I'm pretty sure he was talking about vocal duality in general :P)

LOL I read it the other way, as in expressing vocally as opposed to visually.

Can you tag him so he notices? It seems to have done the typical facebook disappearing thing.

Oh I thought that was what he was talking about, like he says it's hard to have a duality to a character especially with the voice, as normally you would be doing it with the eyes visually.

:D
I love how he described Thane in this interview, shows he really knew his character and it's apparent in his voice work.

I'm not too keen on the cupcake idea either, I think 400 will be enough, if we get them more it might make them sick :D.

I'll be sending off the 'memorial wall' today (digital image of it has also been sent to the fanbook). It should get to BW on Monday.

I'm posting it snailmail from Scotland to BW today which should take 6 days (well my boyfriend is :P) and I'll try and post images later on after work although they're not much different to the earlier ones (just an extension with some more Sheps and a list of BSN names).  I've emailed the images to the fanbook too... anyway it's time for work :(

Okay, I'm apparently the only one online, so I shall spamz the thread.

Have you seen this one?

Just watch it closely when Miranda asks where she and Sheploo stand. Just watch their hands?!

Well, at least Samara and Morinth don't get "I love you"s.

Yet. So the romance that gets a handhold and almost kiss and the one that flat out kills you are still in rougher waters than Thane. Well, depending on how you view life. Samara might live.

Morinth is still worse off than Thane and will kill you. Also, she is a banshee.

They never get tired of the bum-shots do they? lol

As for the hands, it's clear which ME2 romances got priority (other than Tali and Garrus). Apparently a decent holding hands animation was too much for Thane and Femshep <_<

You're not alone in your just anger.

Thane's romance is as poor as it gets.
I tried to troll tweet them 'bout it but did not get response

Pretty much every thought I've had about voice actors is here. At least the ones in Mass Effect. They're all just SO GOOD. I really can't think of one that I don't like. Well... MaleShep's voice. Compared to FemShep, it's just so... emotionless. At least in my opinion.

Jus tell them you'r reporting a glitch that seems to get their attention.
Heck I got an answer after writing this:

Even if it just makes it to the bug report someone will notice at some point what's going on.

I think someone mentioned making wristbands earlier in this thread, but I don't remember where lol. If anyone is still interested, here is a wristband site: http://24hourwristbands.com/ Pricing seems reasonable. Maybe green and black for Thane?
