You could also write about your femShep and what appealed to her about Thane, how they're a good match. If I can't get to doing a one-shot, then I'll fall back on that.

Hello all of you! Sry I just stepped in and wasn't able to read any of your past posts - if someone have a question about the book just write to me! Since I am organising it I write as much messages and mails, I just have not the time to step in at the threads and read them carefully! Sorry! Emeraldfern and mythlover20 are very kind in helping me a lot with organisation and designing and Visii sent me a lot of stuff and will help to ask people for contributions to. We already got abou 20 contributions until this time, so I feel quite great at all Thanks again for all the help and for all the contributions so far! *very happy*

I know about the banner Hana done in the past and I was just really thinking that they could not have ognored it the way they already did. So yeah I am quite afraid they the book will be laying around at Bioware in some dark corner and they will do nothing to put us out of our misery. But to tell the truth: it is worth it. Even if we get only the simpliest change like changing the image in the flshback from Liara to Thane it was worth the work at least. And to tell the truth: Thane is bringing people together. 1 week before I was a sleeper in this forum just read some posts from time to time, smiling for myself and happy to get that much information/artworks whatever here. And right now I am talking every day with that much nice and sympathetic people thats amazing! So until now there is no fanbook finished, but for myself this whole project is already a really huge succes! Here are people who feeling the same way I do, they express their feeling in a great way and I am allowed to collect them and show Bioware that we LOVE this character.

Thane is great. He deserves this. It doesn't matter if Bioware change something or not. At least we tried. And thats a great feeling

I don't know if Hanar will want to do something like that again. She and all the other artists worked really hard on it only to have bioware just ignore it in the end.

well thanks for the information, just wrote to gamergal, but i expect, that she is also active now lets see what comes out.
i just think about writing an email to bioware...with a lot of name under it, but's so uncreative and my english is bad xD i  wrote my sadness about it in the offical "critizies" thread here but i think there are so much posts no one will read all of them.

You can do all that. Have you signed the petition yet?
There is also a facebook page to protesting the treatment of ME2 romances in ME3. You can also tell bioware how you feel on twitter. I don't have an account myself, but I know that some of us do and have been doing that.

Whatever is in your mind. I just want to avoid matured and rude content! And credits should go to yourself - no stealing allowed It should be at least something positive. This will get more attention than telling them how cruel and bad they are. And at least they created Thane for us E-Mail to send the contributions to: thane-fanbook at gmx.de

For questions: ask. Until the end of April my freetime is fanbook time xD

Btw.: I would be in in any other project too, would be great if you PM me! Since I am reading this thread not so often

Well said. I agree too. I used to stick to Drellickers because the main threads were so full of trolls. Now I a) don't care am occassionally one of those trolls.

And I get to talk to lots of wonderful, like-minded people!

Not even thinking about thanking bw though.

Strangely enough, I think the Fanbook WILL be appreciated by someone at bw.  I say this because, I have put together photo albums, collages, and memory boxes for friends and family in the past, and they still have them displayed even years later.  One of my most treasured gifts I ever received (and it was admittedly NOT from my husband...), was a photo album  one of my best friends had given my from our trip to Greece together back in 1998.  I still love thumbing through it.

The art and stories I have seen so far are wonderful, and I do truly believe will be respected (dare I say, treasured even??) by someone at bw.  Now......if only it has enough impact to really make some changes for Thane...Super Assassin!!

Well said. I'd be very happy to support this. I joined the group on bsn and will look into it more. I have already been working on a drawing (at this point it's still in stylized black line form as I haven't decided what medium to color it, if at all) How will this ultimately be presented to Bioware? Do I have to send the original or just a photo of drawing? Should I start a devart account to submit?  Thanks so much for your time.

hugs here as well.  i can't even tell most people why i am so incredibly bummed right now, because they won't get it, even a lot of mass effect fans don't get it, which is depressing.  i am amazed that i had such an attachment to a fictional character, but the fact is that, between me 2 and my current play through on me3, i have put in 140 hours, plus at least that many on the fic i started, probably double when i think of the time i spent researching and working it out in my head.  i'm so disgusted about it all, i don't think i will finish the fic.

i really feel like i lost a friend, and i feel like an ass for having been so involved in the fandom.  i feel fairly well mocked by bioware's handling of this (what?  they FORGOT that thane was an LI?), and i'm disappointed that i've lost the motivation to write about it.  every time i start to think about how i will handle it in my fic, i feel foolish all over again for having gotten so into it and then for being so disappointed about it.

i'm trying to force myself to finish the game (what for?  the ending sucks), but when i hit a rough spot last night (i'm better suited to fighting cerberus than husks and rachni), i had to ask myself why it was worth the bother.

you know, the thane romance was such a disappointment, but the ending on top of it is so depressing.  as someone else around here said, i don't invest 100 hours of my life into something for a depressing ending, i want to walk away feeling like a hero.  i have heard some people compare the game to a movie or a book; who is this bummed about a sad movie ending?  the fact remains that i did not spend only 2 hours on a movie and feel moved to tears at the end.  i have invested a LOT of time in this, and i almost think that bioware lost sight of a) what made us love mass effect and what gaming is supposed to be about.

at times like this, i just have to remind myself that i read a quote from one of the bioware peeps about how me3 concluded the series theme of "sacrifice."  i was mistaken when i played me2 and thought it was more about having hope against impossible odds.

I know exactly what you mean. Don't feel odd, strange, weird or any variation of these things because you became attached to Thane and his story. I did too, as did a good number of the people posting here. As to your fic, write through the difficulties you're facing. I'm writing one too, right now in fact (I took a break to reply to your post because I empathise) and I intend to do what Bioware couldn't be bothered to. Give that dear Drell a chance at a happy life with Shepard, just like they wanted.

Keep strong. Hold the line. If Bioware won't fix the mess they made, well..that's their issue.
