Most of us here have invested in the Mass Effect trilogy from the first release. Spending almost £100+ on games and not to mention the DLC. And I know this is just another thread about how badly the ending was written, but the more complaints we make then maybe Bioware may actually get the hint and make a statement. But before I go on I have to say other than the ending and the final mission the game is top class.
I have completed the game with 5000+ war assets which meant that if i chose the Red path and detroyed the reapers I would live but most of the galaxy would be stranded and probably die undoing what I tried to achieve for the pay 3 days.
Most of us know what the endings are, some say it is bittersweet, some say anti-climax. When will writers realise that we play games for entertainment. If I want to experience the limited reality of my choices then I will go into the real world. If I want a break from reality I will, for example, play a game. You delve into the fictional world of mass effect because its fun and in a twisted sense when something goes right in the game you are happy because you are connected to the characters, like when an important character dies heroically, you are sad. So when we, the fans of mass effect, are presented with 3 similiar crap endings with no closure, you should express nothing less than outrage or dissapointment.
Those who join the realism of the endings why don't you go into the real world and let those who want the option of a happy ending get what they want and paid for, seeing as it is fiction and you tend to take enjoyment from fiction.
Also what the hell happened to my team, one minute Garrus and James are fighting with me in the trenches the next thing they are on a ship going through a mass effect relay while I'm on the citadel fighting. So even if you want us to lap up these bullcrap endings atleast provide some continuity, rather than some sad flashbacks then boom teleport those characters onto a planet that isn't the planet we had to save.
Oh and if you try to shove a Prequel or Non-FREE DLC with the real 'perfect ending' down our necks then you'll probably make the money, but at the end of the day Biowares name will be dragged through the dirt.
As Professor Farnsworth would say "I don't want to live on this planet anymore."
