Though I think that no matter how well written the end of something is, or even if it takes the most 'popular' direction - someone is bound to be unsatisfied...
To quote Chuck from Supernatural:
"Endings are hard. Any chapped-ass monkey with a keyboard can poop out a beginning, but endings are impossible. You try to tie up every loose end, but you never can. The fans are always gonna ****. There's always gonna be holes. And since it's the ending, it's all supposed to add up to something. I'm telling you, they're a raging pain in the ass."
Epic Line! - and so true...

That is a perfect and short summary of the flaws, good work!

I read half a dozen fan endings 1 week after the game release that BLEW the current ones out of the water. Shephard still died, and yet they worked perfectly despite some unavoidable holes.
Endings are hard, but writing an ending better then the current ones are CHILD'S PLAY.

1 Harbringer is downplayed, i really wished you talk to him, and bossbattle. One econd his there, then he is gone.
2 The entire plotpoint with the starchild, the way he reasons with his involment with reapers. It doesn´t make sense. Since shepard makes peace between geth and quarrians. And all the things that happens to EDI, as she discovers her "soul". So when you get there, your like... What??
3, that you couldn´t ask the child questions, or argue with him. The classic mass effect style.
That shepard just stands there, and trusts the child, and just picks a generic choice. You should really just be able to say " no, just shut down the reapers. " : D
4, Mass relays destroyed. WHAT?? what happend in the arrival DLC, when shepard destroyed the mass relay?? Is there really any difference this time?? And also, how does everyone get home??
It´s a BIG plothole.
5, the normandy on the run. Why?? how?? Why are running?? Why cash?? And the squadmates that come out from the normandy, even tough were with you on the ground with harbringer. ????
6, that the endings are ending, one. They really should have a couple of endings. As they promised a couple of times. Include bad endings, sacrifice ending, good ending. Why not?? Im not whining och moaning, as some people say, whats wrong with a good ending?? All the things you do through the 3 games should have inpacts on the ending of ME3. Like they said. Since this is suposed to wrap up things, give us closure. With they don´t.
But this is just my opinion, if you love the ending. Great for you. I wished i did to. : D Everyone likes different things, you can´t judge because someone does´t agree with you. So peace.
Please Bioware. Do something the the ending of the game. Listen to your fans. I know it´s inpossible to please everyone.
I hope you will think of something mass effect team.
Thanks for many, many great hours of gameplay! So many memories. : D

Well...Yeah but, I bet theres still some who would disagree with some of the fan written endings as well no matter how well written they were, perhaps ones fav character isn't mentioned enough, the end didn't match ones decisions etc... Its simply statistically impossible to please everybody...
But you're right, as for this ending in particularly - it wouldn't have taken much effort to please at least a good percentage of the fan base...
btw - love the word play
@Christianswe
I agree 100%...
I was looking forward to taking on Harbinger and shove his ugly mug in the mud!

And that's the point. No one here wants ending that pleases everyone. Problem is current ending displeases vast majority. And it's displeasing on every possible level - it betrays formula of ME where it's your decisions that matter, it's bad from storytelling POV (intruduction of deus ex machina in last few minutes), it's bad from plot POV (numerous plot holes), it's bat from gameplay level (no boss fight), it betrays themes of ME (narrows premise, forces conclusion that diversity is bad and only way to prevent war is to mix everyone to absurd hybrid)...
It's not about pleasing everyone. It's about not letting down almost everyone.

Fantastic explanation of Dark Energy (original) Ending: - also he makes point I totally love and support - Crucible isn't answer, there HAS to be conventional battle: Reapers Armada vs United Galaxy Fleet.

Preaching to the quire my friend, I know and I fully agree...
On other websites they make it sound like we want a happier / brighter ending - thats not it...
Just asking for a little sense and an ending true to the core of the game - our choices!
Is that so much to ask for?

One of the reasons this forum seems to be getting quietter is because there already exist many good lists stating our concerns on the ending. But this should not be mistaken and these lists should be seen my more and more people. So bump with great justice!

Thanks! When I started this thread there were's that many, and they were individual lists, or focusing only on plotholes or some other parts of problem. I wanted us to show list that gathers points of forum users and one that's spans over all aspects of ending.
