Even though I dislike this song very much, I laugh at how well it fits the trilogy at this point.

Is it too late to get my money back? I have loved Bioware games for years. I have loved the Mass Effect series from the first release. I have played every class and had nearly every relationship. I've played full paragon and full renegade and then I've played somewhere in between. Like a good book I've gotten invested in the characters. Much to my husband’s amusement I nearly started crying when Thane died and when Legion sacrificed himself. For months I looked forward to ME 3, wanting to continue the story of each of my many characters. The ending to this game has left me unable to even look at it and makes me want to forget I ever heard of the game/books/comics. It feels like they ran out of time and instead of saying hey we want to make this awesome and cover all possible endings, (like suffering and sacrifice, total defeat, and yes some kind of happy ending with lover and friends flying off in to the sunset). Instead it's like they said o.k. we don't care, we've made our money, we're done.

Well-said, LadyPhoenix. It's just such a disappointment in relation to the rest of the game and series.

I just finished last night and have been avoiding the forums for fear of spoilers.  I see a bunch of ending threads so I picked this one at random to express my disappointment with the endings.  None of the endings make any sense for my Shepard, especially given what we know about mass relay destruction from Arrival.

Instead of telling the stupid little electrokid that his entire assumption is flawed, as i just brought all synthetic life and organic life together to kick his "solutions" butt, I have to choose from 3 railroad endings, all of which DESTROY every living sentient thing in the galaxy?  I tried each of the 3 endings and every ending destroys the mass relays, thus destroying the system they are in. (cite: Arrival and 300,000 dead batarians)  I would have rather just continued fighting the dang reapers conventionally, at least that way life gets another century or two to maybe figure things out.

Actually my choice would have been to take control of the reapers in the Sol system alone.  (after hailing Harbinger and saying "assuming direct control")  We know the Citadel moves, I would take my new Reaper armada and the Citadel and go system by system taking control of the reapers and after rounding up all the Reapers, I would then pick a system with no life, and then either send them into the sun or destroy that one mass relay.  No more reapers, and no complete destruction of EVERYTHING of any count in our galaxy.   Heck it would be a good little chance to retire, bring my remaining friends with me, and "end the disease without killing the person I am trying to cure".

Each option destroying all the mass relays makes no sense, neither does magic green radiation that apparently makes technology grow in organics like tumors.  I guess I get to pick the synthetic parts out of my hamburger before I eat.

I wasn't necessary looking for a brighter ending, just one that my Shepard would choose. Heck by the time the Crucible is in play, the death toll is so high that there is no brightness left for this worn torn generation.  But some sort of means to keep from destroying everyone, and maybe some slides of each of the places I visited being rebuilt would at least make the ending feel satisfactory and earned.  And the Normandy being stuck on some random planet makes no sense either, they were fighting the reapers in the Sol system with the rest of the fleet.  Did they retreat?  How did they beat the magic energy to the mass relay?

Bioware has burned me twice now on endings that remove all my previous actions and decisions and leave me on a railroad to suck.  I will allow one time as a fluke (Dragon Age 2, a game i love to play but never finish anymore) but twice is policy and my next Bioware game won't be preordered and it may come from the bargain bin.  "Fool me once", I will take the responsibility for giving a second chance, there may not be a third from me.  (Another Bioware game where I play till the epilogue because the game is fun, but never finish and leave it in my imagination how it ends. Boo!)

I can deal with sacrifice, I don't want to deal with a bunch of people stranded on a planet, or my good friends dying due directly to my choices.

Because that would require ****ing effort and having to make extra little clips of the war assessets you gathered ala ME2 as opposed to having the SAME CINEMATIC everytime with a different flavor of food coloring.
