So, there were no initial encounters with Harbinger in this game, except up until the very end. I was really hoping for some dialogue with him and a fight.

I liked how he left the fight in space to stop Shepard and allies from gaining access to the beam. It increased the sense of desperation.

I was hoping that we would interact with him in some way and have an in-game battle against him, or at the very least; feature Harbinger decimating the allied forces in space cut-scenes.

Oh well. :?

Well, at least we had a short conversation with a real reaper on quarian homeworld.  Alas, Harby had a cameo, nothing more.

I think the Harbinger in ME2 and the Harbinger in ME3 are two different things. Development wise I mean. It's possible before the Reaper origins were finalized, Harbinger had a large role, but was then changed when the Catalyst was thought up. I guess they just decided to keep him in the game for continuity's sake.

honestly i dint know anything about harbinger at the end of ME2, its only when i read up on him that i found out he was a "reaper leader mabye, or something"

then they never even went into why the crap he was about. AT ALL. so i still dont understand who he is, why he looks different, and why other reaper look different.

hell i dont even know what the reapers look like on the inside, is there a alien shaped core? HOW DID ME2 EVEN END?

My dream:

Illusive Man "I can't stop it..." Bang, kills himself.
Harbinger: "Assuming direct control of this form"
Illusive Harbinger Man "Shepard. The hour of your ascension is at hand."

I was terribly disappointed with no Harbinger. Especially when the codex makes it pretty clear he is probably the first reaper, the strongest reaper. I really was expecting one final confrontation, not a boss fight, but one last conversation.

Harbinger it's the largest one and have a particularly intimidating "face"... Also, he have a grudge with Shepard since ME2 where Shep blow the Harbinger's plan more than once. I was aso expectating a battle with him, I even believed that the final boss was Harbinger Vs Shepard with the help of the Normandy and the Admral Hackett's vessel.

Sadly, they wasted a very powerful boss, and a very personal enemy.

I really thought we'd either talk to Harbinger, or at least he'd be saying stuff to us at some point. Once we got back to Earth, I figured he'd be talking the whole time I was fighting. Then I thought surely he'd have something to say when I saw him blasting away puny humans while Shepard made one last dash. Then I figured while TIM talked about how he could control the Reapers we would hear, "ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL." Nope. Not a word.

Yes I know who it is, I've played all ME games and DLCs. I just don't understand why it was there because you can't talk to it or fight it. So there is no reason at all to mention it is Harbinger.

I cant understand why they made "story" and character behind him "it" and then they did not even use it in ME3

I suspect that he originally did have a role in ME3. But they decided that for whatever reason he wasn't going to make enough appearences, and as a result people who had only played ME3 wouldn't be familiar enough with him. As a result, a direct confrontation with him was removed from the plotline.

I was hoping for the exact same thing, convince the Illusive Man that he's indoctrinated and the moment he tries to break free you get harbinger saying "assuming direct control" and you get a nice boss fight. Sadly one of many underutilized moments at the very tail end of this game

It's like how X-Men 3 cheated us out of a Colossus and Juggernaut fight. Only this is like 1000 times worse.

Could have been filled in during the intro to the game.

Anderson: "My god those reapers are massive, look at that one over there!"
(Anderson points to different looking reaper)
Shepard: "That looks like Harbinger's Hologram!"
(Harbinger takes out dreadnought)

Could have had him so many places. Heck, it would be cool to have fought him in Halestrom and he just escaped.

They've already done that in ME1 with Sovereign and Saren

Yeah, they screwed up big time with Harbinger. They set him up to be the primary antagonist of ME3 (along with TIM), then just left him out of the damn game until the very end - but you still never interact with him in any way.

As for TIM, we should've confronted him face-to-face in the Cerberus HQ. It was far too anticlimactic not to end the Cerberus subplot there.

Just an absolutely terrible ending to a wonderful series. Part of me hopes the theory that the end was a result of Indoctrination is true - it makes the ending less awful (but only just).

Well, what if Harbinger tried to assume control of Shepard but you can fight him off with paragon or renegade choices. Then, Harbinger assumes control of ANDERSON, and you have to fight him and a Reaperized TIM?

I just wanna hear Harbinger's quotes with Martin Sheen's voice!
"If I must tear you apart Shepard, I will"
"This hurts you"

+1. I want Harbinger back. How can this game be perfect without Harby? :<

I think it would be cool if Harbinger headed the assault on Thessia, Palaven and Earth. Just chased Shepard around like the crazy stalker he is. :D

Forget Harbinger. All the Reapers were reduced to the Glowy God Child's toys. No individuality, motivation or purpose of their own. If ME3 was my intro to the game, I'd think they were just ordinary machines... with less advanced AIs than the Geth, because no matter what people said about them ingame, nothing different was actually shown. They were there killing stuff. That was it.

Yeah, and having a mad dash for a Conduit to warp you to the Citadel where you enter a tower and talk a primary antagonist into shooting himself in the head was totally not done in ME1, ever.

Just hope that Harbinger was saved for some DLC. Come on! A cameo does not do it justice and plus: he just wiped out Shepard's entire squad and then flies away? Come on!
