"They need me.." and then Tali answering the Question that was asked by the first Geth.. "Does this unit have a soul?" "Yes" then him falling down dead in the sunrise on the Homeworld...
anything after the Chronos mission does not happen.

The only reason I didn't say the ending is because it's so goddam infuriating.

If you mean sad in the more general sense, the ending.

Legion's death and what Tali said to him when he was dying were one of the most touching things I've ever experienced in a Video Game. I had to get a box of tissues.

Mordin's death was terribly sad, yet heroic and poignant. It was everything I expected of him. Of the series.
To have it basically mean nothing in the end because of the terribly thought out ending, makes me angry. Seems like a total waste.

When I see the credits roll at the end of the game and I realize all of my choices throughout three games didn't matter. Oh that one takes the cake alright~
Shepard....the Nromandy...Earth....the rest of the Galaxy....just thinking about it!!! *sigh*

That, and Anderson's goodbye scene. I mean the final one. Easily one my favourites.

Probably Mordin's death... he's a goddam hero. I'll never forget this game.
This was probably the best part of the game for me, it was a amazing finish for his arc and fit damn well into the naritive.
I wouldn't say the endings so much made me sad as they did filled me with lothing for whoever worked on them.

Barring that, Legion's sacrifice.
Mordin's death was pretty sad too, and Tali's suicide would have broken me had I gotten THAT resolution.

The talk between Shepard and Garrus before the final level, the whole "There's no Shepard without Vakarian" and "If I'm in that bar and you're not, I'll be watching over you. I've always got your back." I had a bad feeling Shep wasn't coming back, and this nearly made me cry.
This and Thane's death.
