Replacing the entire ending would be difficult to do entirely. So how about this. Give us a fourth path. The last path is that we walk back to the elevator and go back down. Right before shep goes down he says something like "thanks but I will take the risk of dying with the people I know and love."

Then we see cutscenes that show how our decisions played out. If we had enough EMS then we could survive. Not destroy the Reapers but survive. Maybe the galaxy puts up a good enough fight that the reapers are forced to retreat. Maybe Shepard talks to Harbinger and thats when Harbinger sees Shepard is an anomaly and decides to pull the reapers to pull back to dark space because they need to re analize what this means. After everyone is happy (though there would be losses) Shepard says "the reapers are still out there. But they are afraid and will think twice before they attack us again." Bam Mass Effect 4

I think simply removeing the part where the mass relays gets destroyed would have been enough. Then at least I know that if my crew crashed on a random planet, they can be rescued via relay travel.

Also, remove the part about the grandfather telling a story about how the human race is ****ed and cant develop space travel technology.

That's about it. Shepard dying isn't a problem. It's the goddamn relay destruction that's the problem, together with Mass Effect technology magically becoming moot.

it makes sense, the entire time everyones saying how they cant beat it conventionaly, but then you kill 2 years....

EDI even says that the reapers arnt as immortal as they suggest. hell, i saw a reaper DIE in a battle cutscene. and that was with CONVENTIONAL MEANS.

i think the fleet you asmass can take them on....

Remove the normandy crash scene entirely
Remove the stargazer scene entirely
Remove the Catalyst scene entirely
Remove killing EDI/geth from the destroy ending
Remove the destruction of the relays from the control ending
Remove Shepard dying in control (show the Lazarus implants plugging him/her directly into the Citadel, instead)
Make the destroy ending blue and the control ending red

I'd have been fine with a Paragon/Renegade interrupt option (based on your own rating), where you basically say, "No. I don't accept your false choices. Look out the window. Look at us. Look at what we can do together. You have no right to tell us what we can and can't do. You're not God, and you can't ask me to play God in your place. I'm ending the cycle, starting with you. We'll make our own path." And then I'd have piloted the Citadel into the sun, effectively turning all of the Reapers off.

I agree with most of this, especially the goddamn first option. Agree that the relays shouldn't be destroyed in the control ending. They're reaper tech. Reapers are still there. You could also argue for the synthesis ending to keep the relays as well, in that case. But IMO if we go by your rules (which I think are plausible), it should just be destroy vs. control.

Like I would have much preferred a final talk with Harbinger. Who sees that Shepard has made it through everything. He explains what the reapers are and why they do what they do. Because of this he gives Shepard a choice. Join him and his species will live on in reaper form or resist and fight even though you could be risking everything. Have Shepard die in the resist ending, but he dies to save the ones he loves. Have his LI come up to him in his final moments. For example tali, have her come beside him and Shepard says im sorry, I promised I would build you a house on the home world.

Followed by a memorial with everyone there and the final shot is a anamorphic lens flare sunset with the N7 engraved on the plauqe and the main Mass Effect theme playing in the background.

Why Bioware why!!!!!! The community has so many great ending ideas. Why didn't you consult with other writers before making this ending final!
