Im 100% for this. It all adds up to this, even from the beginning of mass effect 2 harbinger was interested in shepard, he hired shadow broker (through the collectors) to retrieve shepards body from the normandy blow up, in arrival when shepard got exposed to the reaper artifact he wanted him alive, he clearly want to assume control over shepard. But manipulation and indocrination takes time, so through the child in the beginning of me3 and through the dream he got on shepards soft spot, (kinda like sovereign made benezia to see saren as a god) therefore appearing as the child in the ending making shepard trust him to make the paragon or merge descision, if he makes them the indocrination is complete because shepard gave his mind to harbinger, if he takes the destroy shepard remains incorrupted and breaks from harbingers will and youll see him wake up in london again.
That would explaim the normandy crach landing on a tropic planet with the whole crew making everything seem ok, again trying to get on shepards soft spot.
The ending is an hallucination! You are being Indoctrinated!

At least all this searching for an ending has led the Bioware forum users to start Child's Play Donation Drive.

The child always felt a bit off and the paragon/renegade color switch at the end also stood out to me. But the way this was all connected here.. nice work!
Also the child - to which Shepard imo felt connected emotionally too strongly, overreacting all the dreams etc. - does make some kind of sense this way.
Still a pretty big let down since there was no kind of final conversation or even any conversation with the Harbinger in ME3, especially disappointing since Mass Effect is such a conversation-heavy game... oh well, at least they brought in some mystery into the game. Let's hope they won't solve the mystery in future DLC..
Bioware is indoctrinating us into thinking Shepard has been indoctrinated so Reapers can continue to indoctrinate ppl, yay!
Kinda feels like Blade Runner, really like it!

dk if some 1 talked about that earlier but i belive after shepard choose the distroy option and he wakes up in rubble it possible to assume that he has break off of the indoctrination wich can might consolidate more the theory and a possible dlc for a better ending.
also we should check that reactor that shepard destroys in that ending and the boy reaction as well. (cant take off my head that reminds me a litte of the reaper core u find in the reaper IFF in ME2.

im fairly sure the thing with 1m1 on it is actually the anti ship guns you fire at cerberus on the multiplayer map. The tuchanka guns.

I think its Biowares trick, they checking our commitment to the game.. new comers who never played previous ME might accept or even like the ending because they dont bother, but us... the ones who played the game since 2k7 are mad/cry/rage etc. that shows how we liked, hell... LOVED the game and perhaps it it's worth continuing. I believe it

Anyone ever noticed that if you open the war console on the Normandy and you go to the war map it says its offline even right up to the end? With different territories, as if you should be taking back the galaxy bit by bit and not with one single battle on Earth?
