In this post I will link to several sites with articles I have posted in and have just copyed what others have thought, that I agree with.

@re2apocalypse1 Agreed. What's hillarious is that the common criticism is "my choices didn't change the ending, everything I built up made no difference, raargh! raargh! raargh!"
Saving/killing the council had sod all impact on ME2 other than minor contextual stuff, and I'm guessing that hasn't changed.
Didn't matter what you did/didn't do in ME2, the ending still boiled down to save base/destroy base.
Yet nobody got their pants in a twist about it... so why do it now?

Wow ME 3 is really feeling the hate, with this series alltogether I have accumulated over 200 hours of play, though ME 3's ending was more linear than the previous diverse endings of ME 2 and ME, ME 3 took a risk and that is not something to spit on ME 3 for. For me it wasn't about the destination it was about the journey getting there, this game is packed full of amazing cinamatography and emotional scenes that wrench at the heart. so to all the haters just shut the **** up, Hackett out.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------@AlwayzBeFly93 Haven't played it yet (fully admitted) so admittedly in no position to make an informed judgement, but I have been spoiled and the common criticism I see is that "my choices didn't change the ending."
I don't see why that has suddenly become a problem, it was the same in ME1 and ME2. There was no way Bioware was going to make a game where the endings were determined by actions made in other games. It would render ME3 a complete waste as a game in its own right.

Now, don't get me wrong, alot of ppl hate the endings, obviously I'm in the 1/4th group. This article wil prolly be ignored because most ppl post in the areas with ppl raging. Regardling the post above, anyone think though, that in ME1 you only got 2 choices? Save the Council/Kill the Council besides choosing Anderson/Udina? Or how about ME2 you also got only 2 choices Destroy the Base/Keep the Base besides how many ppl you can save. All the minor choices occured thoughout the course of ME3, but the ending itself is still just a few choices. I understand ppl with the "want more closure thing with characters for example" But it doesn't bring the whole series down.
There is surprisingly alot of ppl that don't understand you can save shepard/anderson and you can save earth/destory it. I know many other games with far worse endings.
This article I'm about to link regards the apparently ending change, its under the original posters spoiler section, so check it out if you wish. http://www.ign.com/b...lers.250066288/ If you don't want to go to this link, this part right here I do enjoy and should explain a bit:

The Reapers aren't hypocrites (in concept) in the Singularity Motivation because they don't perceive themselves as machines wiping out organics. They see themselves as immortal vessels that preserve a civilization forever that just happens to be synthetic. They see themselves as the saviors of organics for letting them grow and prosper and then harvesting them before they evolve to the point of singularity. "Imposing order on the chaos of organic evolution" as Sovereign said.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
and another thing sovereign said that I will add: "You live because we allow it, You die because we demand it" something to that extent.
I like this comment Casey Hudson said: "Casey Hudson has summed up Mass Effect 3 as "victory through sacrifice." The scale of that sacrifice has been increasing with each new chapter and will continue to increase in ME3."
At this conclusion, I'm done posting on this topic. You all have your mind set on the ending and won't be convinced otherwise, most likely. I respect Bioware and the franchise and will continue to support it. Casey and his team at Bioware has made a fantastic universe and story and will look forward to the continuation of it in future entries.

EDIT: Here was another thing I enjoyed someone said:
I do feel that Organic vs. Synthetic has been the main theme of the series. In ME 1, every synthetic lifeform wants to kill humanity. In ME 2, we're introduced to EDI and Legion, synthetics with no desire to harm organics. This creates a question: Is synthetic life as valid as organic life?
And while all the death and destruction did disappoint me, it still makes sense. You were fighting a war with ancient, ultra-powerful sentient spaceships. Did you really expect their defeat to be easy? That there wouldn't be massive consequences? You spend the whole game building hope that you might actually be able to pull it off. That you'll be able to beat the Reapers without any more losses. That there will be a happy ending?
But you're ending a galactic extinction cycle. We were naive to think there would be a happy ending to that. The happy ending is that the cycle is over. The Reapers are no more. Life is safe. That's the absolute best we had any right to expect.
Yes, it's disappointing. Yes, it's a downer. Losing all those people on the Citadel was devastating. Tali not being able to return to Rannoch is heart-wrenching. All those people stranded across the galaxy is tragic. But life will survive. That's all that matters.
