So I loaded my save from London after attaining 4920. In many guides it is stated that it only requires for it to be 4000 and saving Anderson and after destroying the reapers the ... "good" ending will happen. But it didn't. What's going on? Do I really have to reach 5k ? OR do I have to go back to the Normandy to CHECK the readiness and restart the mission with the Illusive Man? Because that would be freaking bs.

Not to mention, I have been utterly traumatized by the fact that I just killed EDI.

4000+ is your EMS, Effective. Not the total but the percentage after the total. Maybe that is the problem?

No, I have my effective military strength at 4915, checked after being back at the Normandy.

Yes. Did everything as in the guides. Over 4000, saved Anderson, destroyed Reapers. I didn't get the... "clip" (hard to call it anything else really!) that I've seen on youtube, of Shepard laying in the rubble. After the Stargazer part, my game went back to the Normandy.

I also have this same problem, I have the Collectors Edition if that changes anything. Though its not like I care that much the ending still suck.

I have the Collector's Edition as well... Cool Bioware, this is what you get for being a real fan. Not only the game has a crappy ending but also if you were loyal and pre-ordered the game ages ago (I pre-ordered in September!) in a more expensive edition, you can't even have the "good" ending. Thanks. Gonna stay away from this company for now.

From what I've heard, 4000 only qualifies you for the "Shepard survived" ending if you also played as a Paragon (somewhat ironic, considering that the choice in question kills one of your comrades in arms). Otherwise, you need 5000.

@Eumerin
yeah but how much paragon do you need?! I have about 95% of Paragon, this is ridiculous.

Hmm, odd. When the credits finished rolling and the DLC notice popped up on my game, it went straight out of the disc drive and back into its case on a shelf to collect dust.

Actually I believe that it is the perk you get for completing a New Game Plus. Obviously that means you have to put yourself through all the pain again.... But you get to see Shepard take a breath. Poor Tali and Garrus are still stuck on some random planet somewhere.

No. New Game + is stated everywhere as a singleplayer way of obtaining that ending. If you play multiplayer, you can get that ending during your first playthrough after reaching certain objectives. Or so do the guides say. This is suspicious and annoying.

I can confirm that you have to have the EMS rating of over 5000 to get the "happy puppy" ending. Not possible with the imported paragon ME1/ME2 save without indulging the multiplayer - I did every little thing that there is to be done in this game and the EMS was around 3600. It wasn't until I got my Galactic Readiness to 72% that I got over 5000 in EMS. But I got to admit though... the multi isn't too shabby.

I believe it counts your EMS when you launch the attack against the Cerberus Base, not when you actually beat the game. That's when the Master and Commander is awarded.

Don't mean to necro-post, but I've run into this same problem.

EMS of 5400, full reputation bar, mostly paragon, saved Anderson, chose destroy.... no clip of Shepard breathing.

Has this happened to anyone else?
