Do you ever find out what happened to Maric and Fiona's son?  Is it Alistair?

Its pretty much confirmed through spoilers that Alistair is Maric's son, but I think he's from some other liason, not Fiona.

He was told his mother was a servant girl who died in childbirth. I don't know why they would lie about that and not about being Maric's kid.. but hey, the people of ferelden don't seem particuarly rational.

Another liaison? Maybe Maric falling for and elf in The Stolen Throne was rather silly and hare brained but I don't believe it likely he had others after he married Rowan.

Right but she wanted him to be free of both their legacies. She didn't want to have him saddled with the politics of the court. So someone told him he was the bastard son of the king, but neglected to tell him the other part.

I hope we run into Fiona in the game.
