Some of the argument we're hearing for the ending is that it is possible for the Galactic Civilization to rebuild. Despite the endings being garbage... isn't it true that ALL the top scientists and probably most if not all in general are there working in a "hidden" system building the Crucible? This would mean they no longer have a Mass Effect Relay... and potentially ships that are not even able to do FTL travel. Depending on which food coloring you choose for your vanilla ending, it looks like it might mess with the tech in place... their position might be lost? all relevant data is lost?
How do does galactic civilization rebuild from a monumental loss like that?

Presumably, all the people who built the Crucible came with it (maybe as part of the Shield team) through the Sol relay. It only makes sense, really, because you would need them in case something went wrong with it (like it didn't fire correctly, or whatever). I don't think it's a stretch to assume that at least a good deal of the Crucible team were present.

I only saw military vessels come through, perhaps they had some key personel on those military ships but they even say they don't know how it works... so how would they be there to fix it? I'd keep them in reserve like a normal battle in case it doesn't work out.
