When I heard the synthasize option I burst out laughing. I mean everything up to that point was bad, but that was so stupid I couldn't believe my ears. I couldn't believe a game franchise this good, could turn so terrible so quickly.

To make things worse the normandy is running away for some reason (along with party members who charge the beam with you? how?). Then they destroy all the relays sending civilization back into the space stone age.

Also the whole reasoning behind the reapers and stuff was soooooooooooo bad.

It's so sad it's funny. I got the "best" ending, but while I was watching it I was positive I had screwed up massively and gotten the worst ending, and went searching to find out what I did wrong. Imagine my surprise when I discovered the truth...

I laughed.

I just found it funny how desperate the game was to make you feel emotional about this poorly written, poorly executed ending. The sad music, the dramatic slo-mo... I had already spoiled myself on the events of the ending, but to see it play out, and see how much they were trying to FORCE me to FEEL something about this, was just pathetic.

Great so my elitest attitude and plans to go on the forums and talk about how the ending was just fine and it was a satisfying conclusion turned into, oh so all the hate is actually justified this time.

-Well, I walked around the entire level for 10 minutes and there's nothing here except the kid and his 3 doors of crap.

-Guess I'll choose control because it only partially screws everything up, instead of totally screwing everything up. Rest of the game was still awesome though, maybe I can live with this.

-WHY IS MY LI ON ON THE NORMANDY, RUNNING AWAY, INSTEAD OF TRYING TO HELP ME. WHY DOES MY ENTIRE CREW LOOK TOTALLY OK WITH THINKING THAT I'M DEAD AND NOT EVEN KNOWING IF THE REAPERS WERE BEATEN. WHY DOES A CONTROL SIGNAL TELLING THE REAPERS TO WITHDRAW BLOW UP A SHIP.

Thankfully at this point I walked away from the computer and didn't have to suffer the epilogue.

First I was thinking...'Bioware wouldn't have done this...the rumors couldn't be right...'

Then once I realized the endings were true, I was like this:

...but then realize my squad's not nearby and I don't see any corpses...so they're okay? Idunno -

Talked down TIM but he made me shoot Anderson -

Anderson dies due to shot -

I end up finding out about the Guardian and the reasoning behind Reapers in the first place -

Kid gives me the 3(horrible) options -

Control? No.

Synthesize?...What. Wait...what? Synthetics live but Shepard dies...not sure.

Destroy? Also destroys all other synthetic life, making my promises to Legion and Legion's sacrifice for nothing. Also killing EDI, thus saddening Joker and possibly killing Shepard himself due to synthetic parts from Lazarus Project. -

I picked Destroy and see Shepard take a breath -

I see Tali(my LI) stranded on some random planet with Joker and other parts of the crew - How'd she get from where I was, blasted by the beam to the ship? How long was I out? Etc.

See ending credits and hear music, thinking back on everyone who died -

See the kid and grandpa talking, still feeling sad - 

Haven't played single player since. Only a few multiplayer matches with friends. I didn't sleep well last night either because of the endings...I feel...emotionally drained about it. Not sure what to do now.
