I bought a copy of this game that came with the blood dragon armor and the stone prisoner problems. Ive had a big problem with logging on and getting my saves to work. Now I'm having a problem with any potential DLC showing up at all and I cannot start a game with my stone prisoner DLC. I know that this problem has been discussed all over these forums, and Ive tried nearly all of the potential fixes to no avail. It's funny because when I check the "my content" tab, both show up and only the stone prisoner gives me the error messages. I had it installed unto a external hdd, then I installed it directly to my laptop's hdd, but Im still having troubles.

Using the unofficial FAQ I found that I should run the daupdater but I get a pop up saying "Could not connect to local server for DAUpdater.SVC. Is the service running? Ive manually reinstalled the content a few time and it still isnt working. Then as the updater states I ran it from the command prompts, but got errors doing that so I still havent been able to get it to work. This is getting quite frustrating, I shouldnt have to do all this outside work to get the game to work, without having severly modded it yet. So if anybody has any solutions I would be open to try them.

Any and all help is appreciated.

Using DAO launcher, click on configuration, select delete download cache, login, check your DLC. If its enabled and authorized logoff.

Unfortunately I have tried this before and just retried it, but it didnt solve the problem. Stone prisoner is still saying unauthorized. I believe Im going to make a copy of the local bioware folder in my documents and delete it, then try this again and see if I will be able to re downloaded them.

Check if your key is registered on your registry. Bioware dude confirmed a problem on DLCs not recognizing any key.

I just registered on THIS site earlier today, which has a note that it isnt linked to any in game data. Also the key is listed in the configure menu under the game tab. Im not sure exactly what you were implying by the registry. I'll also resubmit it to this site once I do the thing I stated above.

Well bioware dude said a potential problem with DLCs not seeing any key on the game so it means it is located in the registry.

hover over profile on the top left of the screen, here on the website and when it opens up the menu, select "Your registered game promotions". If Stone Prisoner is not in the list, it is not registered.

You could try entering the code again via the Redeem Promo Code link. If you cannot redeem it, the code may have been bad, you will have to email whoever you purchased the game from to get a new code.

Yea I know, I hinted that it was in that list in my main post, but I'll go ahead and explicitly state that both the blood dragon armor and the stone prisoner show up on my registered game promotions tab. Now when I go log in and go to downloaded content nothing shows up in either the active or to download, so perhaps my firewall is blocking connection? Even though I clicked the make an exception tab under the configuration menu? This is only an idea though.

Your next step then it to check to see if the DAUpdater Service is running under services, if not check the DLC problems sticky, it has a step by step process to load the service and basically tell you what to do next.

For XP, services is under admistration tools on the control panel

I'm running Vista btw. Okay I went to the services tab (as I stated Ive tried a lot of the things from the stickies around this forum and still cant get it to work.) I set it to automatic as a bioware acct stated I should, however when I "Start" the process I get an error stating:

"Windows could not start Dragon Age: Origins - Content Updater service on Local Computer. Error 3: The system cannot find the path specified."

I suppose this may have something to do with the fact I have installed on my external HDD. So I look at the properties and notice it does. It's shown as the path being E:\\\\, when because the external HDD sometime changes directories it's actually the F:\\\\ now. I feel stupid not being able to solve this as a Computer Sci major, but I cannot for the life of me find the way to change the pathway.

in that case, you might have to uninstall the service and reinstall the service, its explained under http://social.biowar.../58/index/81613, section 3.2.4
