Hello, just looking for some perspective. From what I can tell, the mass relays explode killing all life in the solar systems they're in, and the Normandy tried to escape said explosion but crashed on a strange planet and somehow reproduce - hence the stargazer being on the same planet years later.  OR  Did the Normandy just get flung out of transit to somewhere because of the catalyst's explosion, and the mass relays exploding didnt do as much damage as the one in the Arrival DLC?

So A: The Normandys crew are the only survivors in the galaxy and they reproduce?
Or B: The galaxy is untouched, but the relays are gone, millions die on the citadel still, the galaxies fleet are stuck in the Sol system, and the Normandy just crashes on the same planet as Master Cheif did?

Poor Tali will never get to see her homeworld regardless :( These endings suck regardless. Wth.

There's a massive difference between throwing an asteroid into a relay, and having it be intentionally destroyed by its own creative force. Presumably, the space magic destroyed the relays in such a way that they didn't go all "Arrival" on everyone.

I'm pretty sure B is what they were going for and that the Normandy was just our context for a fresh start. I suppose they thinking is that the beam had a more concentrated effect on the relays than smashing them with asteroids. But this still leads to me wondering how they thought that these endings were acceptable. When you establish a lore, doing things that a contradictory without any sort of explanation will get a negative reaction.

And yes, I'm right there with you with your last statement. I hope Tali enjoyed Rannoch for five minutes.

My problem is that they made it sound like the crucible would fire regardless of a catalyst, but it wouldnt discriminate between all life and just the reapers, the whole point of the catalyst was that it would only target the reapers...
