Does Multiplayer help get a better ending?

Basically after seeing Shepard die I had to reload to  point in my game and try something else. I didn't get to play multiplyer much so I was wondering if that would help get the "Shepard Lives" ending? My Effective Military strength is at 2683, which I thought would be enough, guess not. Does playing mulitplater increase this? :blink: sorry my head is spinning.

Okay thanks, I should have seen that coming. I guess im off to play the Multiplayer.

Your EMS needs to be 5000 to be safe to get the ending where Shepard lives. I think it can be at 4000 too, but I'm not sure of the requirements to get the "live" ending. Multiplayer definitely helps out with your EMS score.

MP is not required, all endings are possible without it, but it helps. The % related to MP is multiplied by your Total Assets. So at the base, all your assets will be cut in half if you never play MP.

Oh okay, it all makes sense now. I should have made sure of this before I went to the final mission. But now I can at least fix it, and play some multiplayer!

I'm still now seeing the math that proves this.  Your readiness, when at 50%, cuts in half the value of your war assests.  I've spent like 42 hours scowering the galaxie and doing 100% or damn near close, and i've only found just over 7k.  not even 7100, just a few over  7.  with a 50% readiness, that's about 3500.  500 (1000) short of the 4k needed to open up the shepard lives ending.  At 3500k, all 3 ending ARE open, but shepard dies if you can't brake 4k AND save anderson.  5K solo is just impossible as far as i can tell. 

So, if you know where the other war assists are, can you tell me?  Or am i understanding the system wrong?  (Honest question)  As far as i can tell, to save shep, you have to MP.  I did.  I like it in the demo, and wanted to make a guy to 20 just to see what happens. (currently 18.  don't spend ALOT of time at it. heh)  So yeah, my shep lived.  Have you done it without MP? How?

Supposdly you need to have 4000 EMS and "save" Anderson or 5000 EMS if you don't "save" him in order to get the  Shepard lives ending. Also, Shepard only lives if you pick the destroy ending.
