How, based on the endings presented, do they matter?

You get to choose between Genocide, rewriting organic life or becoming the reapers. That will matter in the future. Stop being dense.

Whooooo WEEEEEE....that Bioware Kool Aid tastes good doesn't it? Sheep boy.

Stop calling me a sheep just because I'm not on your Band wagon.

There is no bandwagon. There's right, and there's wrong.

It's wrong for Bioware to rip the choice away from us. It's also wrong for you to think that it's somehow okay to let Bioware have a pass for what they did.

So I have to deduce that you're either:

A: A Bioware sheepling that genuinely thinks that the ending was okay.

B: You're a troll that likes winding people up by being a contrarian.

You need to explain how all our decisions mattered, you only said the last 3. Why not just give us those choices right at the begining of the game and save everyone some time? It would have had the SAME EFFECT as what happened at the end.

I thought we were talking about the ending, not the stuff that leads up to it?

THAT'S THE WHOLE ****ING POINT OF THE GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you not play Mass Effect 1 or 2?

This.

These guys that come around and troll us by saying "No it was a great ending hurr durr de derp...stop whining!" are obviously trolls.

There's no other explanation. People that played this game from ME1...they cannot and DO NOT think that the way this game ended was okay...and if they do...they're being contrarian because they like going against the popular opinion...or they actually never played ME1 or ME2.

There's no other way around it.

They DON'T matter. You don't get to see the fruits of your labor.

This entirely.  If there was an epilogue that told us what happened based on our decisions across all three games the sloppy copypasta'd ending cinematic and incredibly limited ending choices would be partially forgivable.  As it is we can just guess what happens.  This is the problem many have with the ending, it gives no closure.  It basically says "screw you".  DA:O was amazing because you could read what happened after defeating the darkspawn, your choices actually mattered to the future, your choices mattered to characters you grew to care about.  But in ME3 we're left in the dark.

No, it won't.  Why?  Because if there is a ME game after this one, it'll be a prequel, OR, a cannon ending will be chosen, OR, it'll be so far in the future this will all be remember as myth.  Why?  Because any new game will have to start the same for everyone, more or less, and having everyone organic or combined is too dramatic a difference.  Theyd have to make 2 different games depending on your choices, and they wont' do that.  And a prequel, well, not of this would matter there.

So that leaves us with our choices being impact full to the current games ending, and, franky, as people have pointed out, they only thing that changes is the color of your space magic.  So at the  end of the day, the END, none of it matters.  You get the same ending with 3 different color explosions and about 30 seconds of different anamations from Shep.  THis is not what bioware advertised IMO.  But hey, they may try and fix it in DLC.  *shrug*  one can hope.

Can you not read?

If you played ME1, ME2, and then played ME3....there is no possible way that you can think the end to ME3 was okay. No possible way. And if you do, you didn't pay attention to the plotholes, inconsistencies...and basically the blatant bullsnarkle that the ME3 writers tried to shovel down our collective throats.

There is no way, unless you're deliberately trying to get a rise out of people. IE: Troll.

Sorry bud, that's how I call it.

It's the journey not the conclusion that matters.

No, it was a misunderstanding. He thought that we thought the choices at the end didn't matter, when they do. How you choose to end the game has significant impacts on the galaxy's future. Which is true and cannot be denied. (Though, a little more fleshing out of that would not have been frowned upon from my perspective.)

..... I liked the ending and I have played Mass Effect 1 and 2 several times. I know it is easier to rage against something when your narrative says that your opinion is the only valid legitimate view point, but if people are fine with the way it ended, or if they actually liked how it ended, then that is their own opinion and should be respected as such instead of calling them sheep or other such names. Conversely, you have every right to not like the ending of the game and think that none of your descions mattered, and people have every right to disagree with you.

Because you always get your army, and you always can destroy the reapers. Yupp. None of them matter.

I wish I could wipe out races through my decisions, but I can only do so with the Krogans, that is a bit poor. Sad, sad.

You can also wipe out the Quarians and watch Tali kill herself, I did that accidentally and had to do the mission again, couldnt live in a universe without Tali....
