Thats pretty much how I felt. After three games and all that Shepard has done,  he/she deserves a happy ending.

It would have been really easy to make one  subject to two conditions.

1. Forge the alliance between Geth and organics.
2. Teach EDI to be more "human"

then present them as evidence that the magic god machine is wrong. The main problem with the ending is that all your options are based on the assumption that the entity is right, no matter the evidence to the contrary.

My suggestion for ending correction if this ever happens:

1) I would have exposition explaining what happens with the Citadel, people who were on the Citadel, Earth, relays, the fleets in orbit, crew galaxy, races, etc. If Shep lives I would show he gets reunited with his/her LI. If he doesn't I would show Shep getting mourned. I would also show that maybe the Citadel gets picked up by the fleets in orbit and not crash into Earth and cause Nuclear Winter and extinction.

2) I would have the Blue Ending be destorying the reapers ONLY along with the Citadel and the relays because a main paragon theme of Mass Effect series has been not using the reaper tech as a short cut. The galaxy has to develop on its own and that we will look to the future to make peace between synthetics and organics.

3) I would have the Red ending being controlling the reapers. Because one of the main renegade themes of the Mass Effect series has been about gaining power you cannot control. I would show that Shep becomes either the catalist, or some kind of Reaper AI. The Citadel and relays are damaged but they are still around. Maybe he uses the reapers to help the galaxy or mankind only

4) I like the idea of the green ending, its imaginative. I would like to keep it. I would still blow up the citadel and the relays with the green ending

5) I would give Shep a chance to live on each ending depending on your assets and reputation.

6) I would explain the mystery teleport by showing either the crewmates died in Harbringers blast or got teleported to other parts of the citadel and got picked up by Joker.  I would keep the Normandy around Earth to crash land.  I would also have Anderson get picked up and live if you saved him from TIM.

My totally unrealistic fixes are:

- Rewrite the Reaper motivations - they make no sense.
- Remove the Star Child - he breaks the ME trilogy.
- Remove the Normandy crash - it makes no sense
- Remove or improve the three 'choices'.
- Allow Shep to reunite with her LI and crew.
- Replace the epilogue with something better, more detailed.

Basically, rewrite the entire thing and do a much better job that is more in keeping with the tone of the series.

rather the crucible be a weapon. like the death star, and you have a choice to either go with TIM virus or use it like that death star. the a giant cut scene happens like 10mins long. showing the battle. and the aftermath.(reapers win or your are successful.)

OH the crucible is powered by the dark energy, you know that stuff that was all over mass effect 2s story.

Shepard is about to make his decisions.
Renegade quick time appears
Shepard says "How about I make my own decisions.
Shepard spins around and blow the hologram kids head off, which was actually not a hologram, but the sole thing keeping all the reapers alive. All reapers die, universe saved. Happy ending.

This, or a Paragon Ending where you tell him that you were able to unite the Geth and Quarians and he just implodes all the reapers because he is wrong and he understands that.

Or, you know, take out the shoe horned "I'm God in the form of a child, look upon me and despair"

Also, I want just ONE option that after the end I'm allowed back on the normandy to fly around and do missions or bone Tali or whatever. Hell, I'm going to be buying all the DLC, so make me some goddamn missions, not this "OH HOHOHO, you might be alive, see that breath?" BS. Maybe I get to be the Illusive man since he killed himself.

I'll be honest, I want the ability to have a disney ending, you know?

I tried so hard to get a good ending I had 5000+ Points, and 100% Galactic Readiness, and I just feel like it was wasted, I feel like the last 7 years was a waste because Bioware said "Eff it" and just through some stop-light BS in here. Red Light Blue Light Green Light? F*** that, I want a "Shoot God in the Face" light.

For me, it's simple.

I expected my Shep to die. She's a woman outside of her proper time. So whatever she could do past that was a bonus.

But I did want to know that after she sacrificed herself: 1;, the galaxy had some hope; and 2;, her crew/squad had hope. Yes, it's selfish, but they're the microcosm of success, imho.

At the bare minimum, Shepard ending up on the planet that the Normandy crashed on and his crew finding him.

 For me, I only need the following things;

1. During the flashback sequence while choosing, I want to see MY LI. currently, if you did not romance Ash or Kaidan, it defaults to Liara. This minor detail ruined it for me.

2. Have the possibility of the Normandy not crashing(I'm willing to let go of this go, if they give us a decent reason WHY the Normandy was where it was in the first damn place.)

3. A real, detailed, text epilogue of what happens to the various races, and your companions, that changes based on your decisions in the story.

The bulk of the endings remain the same, but this would give me closure, and just enough to make it a happyish ending for me.

These are fair demands which would fix the biggest problems for myself as well.

THIS!  I was so irritated by that stupid god child.  War with synthetics is NOT inevitable!  Shepard brokered peace between the synthetics and organics of this cycle.  He also witnessed one WITH REAPER CODE fall in LOVE with an organic.

something like gears of war 3. it was poignant. it was sad. many sacrifices were made and the hero lost almost everything. but the band of brothers for the most part? they are alive. they are meeting their first sunset without the threat of locust and lambent. and as Marcus sits there dejected, unsure, lonely - Anya comes up to him, lays a hand on his shoulder, watches sunrise with him and you realize. he's not alone. and there's hope for the future.

they sorta kinda tried to do that with the crew coming out of the Normandy, but.. it just didn't have the same feeling because it made no sense why they would crush there in a first place? becasue they were cut off, becasue everything Shepard did was for naught. all the peace treaties... all those people stuck in Sol system.. without mass relays, they are not getting anywhere.

Shepard and squadmates/LI reuniting. no star-child at all. something to show that all those forces Shepard gathered - tangibly changed the tide of the battle. would be nice if crucible just fired as Shepard and Anderson watch, and deshielded the reapers, ala sovereign in ME1 when you kill Saren. and allowing the fleets to kill them. maybe some reapers would escape if you didn't gather enough assets. Shep would die if you didn't gather enough assets, as would squadmates. but if you gathered enough - they would live, and retrieve Shepard from the Citadel.

The game since the beginning is about the discovery of a new technology that opens the scale for Humans, you enconter new races, learn about their cultures, see how they interect with each other and with the us.

You travel through the galaxy fighting, resolving problems, learning and all of that is taken from you on the end, with the loss of the mass relays, I understand the "getting free of the cycle", organics finally walking their on path, but the isolation just breaks my heart, is just the opposite of what you being doing.

The end i would like to see is the destruction of the reaper, without the end of the geth, i work hard for them to be accept as another race, and coexist with the Quarians and other races.

Would like to see the rebuilding of the citatel, the major citys and how your friends are doing, and if Shepard lives and have a LI how's that gonna work out.

I don't need a happy ending. Given what's happened to the galaxy, bittersweet is the best we're going to get. What would make me satisfied is:

1.) Remove the illogical pieces:

a.) Give a reason for Joker to be taking the Normandy through the relay network instead of fighting the Reapers. If the Normandy has to crash, why can't if crash on Earth, or even Mars?

b.) If Shepard's love interest was with Shepard while rushing the conduit, they should not be on the Normandy when it crashes on a distant planet. If they are still alive anywhere, they should be on the Citadel with Shepard, or back in London.

2.) Give me a real choice at the end, not the same ending with three different color effects. The lack of meaningful choice is what really rubs me wrong.

a.) Synthesis: Leave it as is, up until the Normandy crash. This was the only one that even vaguely makes sense and provides a noble sacrifice. This is the paragon option.

b.) Control: Let Shepard take control of the Reapers without dying. This death feels so incredibly arbitrary right now. I'm not saying there shouldn't be some sort of cost, even to the point of being turned into some sort of hybrid like we saw in Overlord. This is the renegade option.

c.) Destroy: Kill the Reapers, but let the other AIs in the galaxy live. Reference the fact that the Geth and Quarians have made peace and that EDI and Joker are together [if applicable], and inform the Catalyst that Shepard's willing to risk future conflict/doesn't see it as inevitable. Have Shepard live to see this future. This is the neutral, "happy" option.

3.) A brief cutscene or even text regarding the choice I made and how it affects the NPCs. I know they are different now, but that feels like a technicality.

4.) That bit at the very end with the old man and the little kid can be taken out and lost somewhere.

Keeping dieties out of the equation, especially when they force you to decide between predetermined outcomes.
In other words leave it as a fight between the reapers and everyone else.

In my opinion BW should add a good/happy ending that should consist of scenes.....

1.
Shepard surviving and there being a big celebration afterwards.  All
races would be celebrating and there would be world peace.  No more
chaos like that kid states. No more "creation will always want to kill
creator".  This is false because the Geth never wanted to kill the
Quarians.  They acted in self defense. But obviously during the course
of the game you can smooth things over between Geth/Quarians. A scene
like this would work fine....www.youtube.com/watch

2.
A scene where Quarians rebuild their home.  The Geth would help with
rebuilding. Their finally no longer at each other's throat and now trust
each other.  No more killing and chaos.

3.  Scene where Krogans
and Tuchanka get better. Genophage cured. Krogans are united under
Wrex.  No more clans/separtist and all Krogans become reunited. Hence no
more chaos. Wrex could possibly get a seat on the council. No more
chaos

4. Scene where Rachni being free and being understood.

If I missed any race you get the idea.

They
should also add scenes for each squad member in the past. This
definitely helps with closure because we don't know what the heck
happned to them in the 3 endings we got.

For example...

Miranda and Oriana being free and happy. With their father gone they don't have to run anymore and they can live normal lives.

Jack continuing to teach Biotic kids.

Garrus continues fighting and becomes a Spectre. (He did say he would make another attempt at being a spectre at the end of ME1)

Jacob and his GF starting a family.  After all he said his GF was pregnant and he considered settling down.

Tali finally gets her house.

James Vega getting in N7.

Liara
becomes a significant figure in Thessia. If romanced Shepard and Liara
get married and have some blue kids. This is implied in LOTSB.

So you guys get the idea. IF romanced then these endings would change.

Bioware
should have done something like this in the first place in my opinion.
It's conclusive and simple. And we all know they can easily do it.  They
shoud make steep requirements though.  Like making the right decisions,
all squad members must survive the suicide mission back in ME2 etc. If
BW does this I'd be EXTREMELY HAPPY.

I just wanted to call the starchild out on his/it BS because I ended an 300 year war between the Geth and organic race which by it's own words a few seconds ago couldn't do in god knows how many years.

This is why I made the WTF face for the rest of the day after I finished ME3 because by you're own actions within the game you prove the 'god' creature wrong. Just give us an ending where we don't end up dead and/or the biggest jerk in the galaxy by dooming every major race to be trap in the Sol system.

What would fix it for me would be closure. Too many new questions were asked on top of the answers given (the purpose of the Reapers, the moral issue with organics/synthetics).

At the very least, I would like some kind of voice-over (by Commander Shepard?) CGI epilogue that explains the ending of various characters and civilizations. What happened to the coalition fleet? What became of the citadel and the relay network (wasn't very clear in two of the endings)? Do the geth/quarians repopulated Rannoch? Does Earth recover for that matter? What of Shepard's LI? Of his surviving crew?

The ambiguity of where the Normandy crashed is fine. The ambiguity of how your choices mattered is not.

More different endings.

Or if not that, then at least on epilogue that explains what happened to everyone based on my choices. I want closure dammit!

Niniva wrote...

If it had gone that way instead, it wouldve been leagues better.

Perfect. Just take that then add an epilogue explaining what happened to everyone and I'm set. I never needed an explanation for why the Reapers did what they did. Sovereign even said "You cannot grasp the nature of our existence." Ok that's good enough for me.

Exactly this. This is what makes me rage the most.
The idiot child is wrong. We proved him wrong. We have the evidence is wrong right here, fighting by our side.
Yet. We say. NOTHING. We let him prattle on with his broken logic. It's just unbelievable.
