Dear Mac Walters, lead writer of Mass
effect 3



I'm not a game developer, but I'm a
chap that thinks some of your actions stink and want to ask some
things. Will Mr Walters listen to a hate bringer? Maybe - in the past
he listened to that chap Riccitiello . Sorry, I couldn't resist, back
to business; back in the habit like John Shepard in Mass effect 2 is.
Did you ever play that game? It's fantastic. I can lend you the DVD
if you fancy it.



Damn, I'm rambling. Damn I didn't mean
to say "damn". Damn, I just said "damn" again.
I'm a bit anxious I'll be tagged as discriminatory, similarly to your
companies history. I know what it's like to have a stigma stick to
you, you were in the EA group, I was in the local Scout troop - 'til
the parents found out that Baloo liked bear Cubs a little bit more
than he should do.



And that's what I'd like to discuss
with you, the sick stuff some writers are into. It's like sometimes
you're less inclined to find the truth than to hide the abuse under
your roof. You're quick to stick it in when other people fail so why
are you so unwilling to take this one on the chin? You might think
that it isn't my business, but you're into forgiveness, so forgive
this:



Your hollow response bothered me
horribly, it'd probably be better if you'd not said a ****ing thing.
My God, I just swore at the writer, I'm so sorry, honestly. Now
that's an apology. Not just promising to modify the ending moderately
to smother the controversy you've often seen. It's sick, depraved
system failure, it isn't just as if it's a simple "misstake".



You find out you're hiring a quack
writer and you don't even make a formal complaint, it's insane. If
this was any other organisation you'd be taken straight up to the CEO
to make a statement. Now not all writers are quacks, and the game
industry isn't permanently sigh-worthy but face it: there's a
disproportionate amount of cases; it's almost as if they happen on a
yearly basis. You're the Game industrys last hope and loads of people
want to see your head on a plate. Now I won't go that far, but it's
fair to say that from this day, things better change.

I would like an explanation as to WHY they thought this was a good ending to the trilogy. To make everything I did previously meaningless and leave me with an ending that was a confusing cut scene.

Guys guys take it for what it is a humorous write up of my complaints, not ment to insult him or anyone else. Its my way of fighting the man if you will, its not only about this game but the state of the industry as a whole.

Some kind of "behind the scenes" stuff showing how they managed to get to that point would be interesting. I'd be interested to see how they got to this point. To this terrible terrible point.

Well maby not a behind the scene stuff but I would like a formal response from Mr Walters telling us why he choose this ending, and as I said in the open letter Mr Gambles hollow response would have been better if it had not been said.
