With all the threads expressing discontent over the poorly handled endings I feel we should confirm everything objective we know. This can be a sort of information center for people to for accurate opinions about what the hell actually just happened. I'll make a list to keep it simple, if you want something added post it and i'll edit it in.

Information is power but it has to be right.

1. All endings leads to destruction of mass relays (consequences of this are unknown)

2. 2/3 Endings confirm Shepards death while the 3rd(red ending) shepard is hinted to be alive.
-He is hinted as alive only with 4000+ EMS, otherwise your statement is factual. ~ Tiger_Lord

3. Your choices in all three games are funneled into three consequences, choosing the middle option of combining synthetic/organic, the blue option to control the reapers, or the red option to destroy all synthetics everywhere geth and EDI included. (There are other various bits such as earth being completely owned versus being just barely standing based upon your galatic readiness but with no forseeable ME4 we can safely leave this variation out because what do they really effect if not actual detail is given on the after the fact?)

4. Reapers play no part in the final choice of the game. The only outside influence on shepards choice is a god like on the citadel who claims to control the reapers. This character takes on the form of the human child who dies in the beginning, shepard never questions the appearence or seeks further understand of the enity but instead trusts it completely.

5. Joker and your crew can be assumed deserters. The planet they crash on is not within the Sol system (where earth is at). We are not told the planets location but the normandy had to have used the relay to get somewhere. crossing a solar system can take a few hours at FTL speeds which means Joker and crew would have had to deserted shepard long before he even made his charge to the beam. (I will admit this particular point is more specualtion then fact, the one absolute fact from this point is that joker and the normandy is not where it should - aiding in the final battle for earth.)

6. There are zero explanations of after the fact scenarios, while not explaining aftermath is not inherently bad it makes for a poor story conclusion because we (the players) are left scratching our heads at what just happened.

7. The reapers entire reason for "reaping" the galaxy every 50,000 years is entirely invalid. The catalyst tells us it is because AI and oragnics can not co-exist and AI will overtake organics in time. This entire line of reasoning is completely proved false by the very strong presence of the geth seeking to aid the quarians and EDI being free but not going overlord on us.

8. Because it needs to be repeated, your choices in a game that prides itself on letting the player choose are rendered useless and completely overridden in the final conclusion of the game.

there are more points I would like to add but I want to flush them out a bit more.
Either way lets get our facts straight so if bioware/EA does actually actively seek our input we can give them a straight and informed answer.

thanks for reading.

Yes.

2. 2/3 Endings confirm Shepards death while the 3rd(red ending) shepard is hinted to be alive.

He is hinted as alive only with 4000+ EMS, otherwise your statement is factual.

3. Your choices in all three games are funneled into consequence, choosing the middle option of combining synthetic/organic. (There are other various bits such as earth being completely owned versus being just barely standing based upon your galatic readiness but with no forseeable ME4 we can safely leave this variation out because what do they really effect if not actual detail is given on the after the fact?)

No. Synthesis is one of the option unlocked at around 3000 EMS, but it is not the "ultimate" ending Bioware envisionned, at least EMS wise. The "best" ending, according to Bioware's EMS scale, is the destroy option in which Shepard survives.

4. Reapers play no part in the final choice of the game. The only outside influence on shepards choice is a AI/VI on the citadel who claims to control the reapers. This character takes on the form of the human child who dies in the beginning, shepard never question the appearence or seeks further understand of the enity but instead trusts it completely.

The child on the Citadel is not an AI or VI. It is a manifestation of a God-like entity which controls the Reapers. It appers as a child because it is something Shepard would recognize. That's why we had all these dream sequences. Since the Reapers were the creation of that God-like entity, it would be factually incorrect to say the Reapers play no final part in the game. They do not, however, affect how the endings play out.

5. Joker and your crew are deserters. The planet they crash on is not within the Sol system (where earth is at). We are not told the planets location but the normandy had to have used the relay to get someone. crossing a solar system can take a few hours at FTL speeds which means Joker and crew deserted shepard long before he even made his charge to the beam. (I will admit this particular point is more specualtion then fact, the one absolute fact from this point is that joker and the normandy is not where it should - aiding in the final battle for earth.)

It is not explained how the Normandy ends up crashing on an alien planet, rather than being in orbit around Earth when the Crucible fires. I assume this was left open so they can make DLC and charge you for it. I certainly do not believe Joker is a deserter.

6. There are zero explanations of after the fact scenarios, while not explaining aftermath is not inherently bad it makes for a poor story conclusion because we (the players) are left scratching our heads at what just happened.

The God-like entity provides some explanations, but little.

It's not invalid. The God-like entity says that since the dawn of time, organics and synthetics have always fought each other at one point or another. This conflict led to unsolvable chaos and destruction. The Geth only agreed to help the Quarians after Shepard interfered and Legion sacrificed himself. It's not unresonable to believe another conflict could arise in the future.

Thanks for the input tiger, i'm running off like 4 hours of sleep and rereading what I wrote again makes me cry a bit with sentences not really making any sense.

I modified 2

3 (because i actually left out half of what i was going to say)

4 got some word rework because i think you are right in saying god like entity rather then AI.

5 also got some rewording, assuming desertion is a better choice of words and I highlighted the
main point i was trying to make.

6. there isn't mach you say

7. I am going to have to disagree, the Geth never wanted war with the Quarians, they were only ever defending themselves. Infact it could be said that organics are the aggressors, but there isn't really a need to discuss that as it doesn't really relate.
