2 disks. one paragon, one renegade. shorter game, bigger finish.. bigger payoff. i mean you can even market the boxes in two different colors.. and allow people to buy either or, but they still get both games. why not take that approach, instead of trying to go so big with the new relationships (do you really change your team all that much?) and instead focus on OUTSOURCING tasks ala the final missions in me2 which a "commander" would be doing anyway???

and i totally agree. it's ridiculous that the majority of the choices don't matter, when i was playing through the 2nd time with my renegade character and i saw that the spider queen was still alive i shut my system off in disgust.

They did matter. A lot of the points in the game would be different. For instance, if mordin is dead, then mordin can't cure the genophage. if tali is dead, then there can be no quarian peace. however, the outcome of those scenarios doesn't matter because the ending nullifies everything.

And at the same time, yeah, some of them didn't matter. I still don't understand the rachni bit. I mean, i understand why they did it, because they wanted the ravager enemies, however that is pretty much a simple boolean check to see if the queen is alive or if the queen is dead. If alive, place ravager, if dead, place something else in its place.

Just a thought:  a lot of the comments about the endings revolve around the idea that the endings threw all our previous choices out the window.  And I agree, they certainly did.

But how many of the previous games' choices mattered in this game anyway?  Seems to me Bioware's hype about "wildly different conclusions" basically came down to acknowledging that the choices occurred with some brief dialogue, and then continuing with whatever was going to happen anyway.  I saw almost no substantive differences in Mass Effect 3 based on anything I'd done in the previous games, from the council to the rachni to the collector base.

Thoughts?

Yea, You are totaly right. False Advertising at its worst, I am so sick of EA destroying good games.
