Bioware hires "dream team" of Stephen King and Ronald D. Moore to conclude the Mass Effect series
May 5, 2011

Yesterday we broke that Bioware's Mass Effect 3 will be delayed until Q1 2012.  Today we know why, and boy oh boy is it a treat.  In an interview earlier today Bioware's Casey Hudson revealed that the series was being delayed in order to retool the original ending, which he described as "too predictable."  Fans of the Mass Effect series can now rest at ease knowing that the ending to Mass Effect 3 will be something truly unique.

"Sure anybody could write an ending where Shephard finds a superweapon, kills some reapers, wins and everybody goes home, but we wanted to give fans something special, so we hired two of the most prolific genre writers in the business to help us pen an epic finale worthy of the Mass Effect saga," said Bioware's Casey Hudson.  "While our writers will write the majority of the finale's plot, Stephen King ("The Stand", "The Dark Tower") and Ronald D. Moore ("Battlestar Galactica") will come in and add their expertise to the game's ultimate conclusion.  We've given them complete control and we're all very excited to see what they come up with."

No this didn't really happen.  But I just finished the game; and its the only way I can explain what I just saw.

Wow. I actually believed this for a second, because it applies SO much. It really makes perfect sense.

HAH. You got me there for a minute. I'd totally believe it too given the whole cycle garbage was lifted right out of Galactica, laughably broken logic and all.

Replace "lamp monster" with "Reapers" in this clip from Family Guy,  and I imagine this is how the writers presented their idea.

makes sense, maybe the team was reading a lot of Stephen Kings books at the time.

I thought this was real. A day after seeing the ending I'm still stunned, cursing to myself. I've been a loyal fan since the first trailer with white armor meathead Shepard and I feel like Bioware betrayed me. It's not the end of the world but...I don't know if I'll ever buy one of their games again.
