Ok, i feel stupid, but i accidentally deleted my saves for Mass Effect 3. I know that if you beat the game twice, you get a different ending, (one where Shepard dodges the Reaper laser). What i want to know is if you only need to beat the game twice PERIOD, or beat the game twice with 1 save file
Do i need to play through a 3rd time?

There is no secret ending, you don't dodge the laser pew pew.

Well to be fair there is a "secret" ending that only require a ME2 import or ME3 NG+
Its just an old guy chatting it up with his grandson about "The" shepard.

I'm not going to join up in your quest for hatred...Bioware made their story because that's how they wanted it to end. I can think of a few books where the ending isn't a happy one (Metro 2033), but it ended as such because it set the tone. One of the themes in this game was helplessness, all that hard work for nothing Shepard. Paragon shepard = altruism at its best
EDIT: That being said, i kinda want an epilogue for closure...though i'm guessing that DLC for this might be available.
