Early in ME3, in the room where he does his calibrations, Garrus gives us this wisdom:
Garrus (paraphrasing): Turians know that at the end, if only one Turian is left standing, then the war was worth it. Humans want to save everyone.
And at the end of the war? We are shown THREE characters still standing.
I still hate the endings (not because of who dies or lives but because our choices are meaningless)...but thought I'd point out that Garrus foresaw our anger. ;c)
Garrus warned us!
