i have not been able to play ME3 since Wednesday do to the Black Screen
returned game for a new ME3 and still black screen so im either stuck
with a 60$ disc that wont work or i can trade it in as used and get less
than 40$ for it.
this is not acceptable and i think Bioware
needs to give a full refund for this error or compensate those of us
that are experiancing this GAMEBREAKING bug!
compensation for people that experiancing Black Screen at start up?

I fully and wholeheartedly agree. This kind of bug is completely unacceptable in a finished product. Not only that, I have to wait upwards of 48 hours to get a response from customer support on this issue. Am I the only one who sees that something is wrong with that?
Does anyone from Bioware even look at these forums? Because an official response would be wonderful.

just curious, where did you acquire such a number? I am sure it'll be that high by the time they ever state anything about it.

2096 out of atleast 1 million players is less than 1 percent... A percentage where Bioware/EA can afford. I doubt they will help you in this case... UNLESS they really care about their fans.

The number was from the total amount of views and responses I saw on the forums regarding mass effect 3 black screen

I don't think that number accurately portrays the number of people having this issue. Some people don’t even bother with forums; they just shelve the game until it’s patched. I work in retail, this kind of thing doesn’t fly. If this were some other kind of product it would be recalled, or bought back by the manufacturer. It’s a horrid business model. I bought it, I expect it to work, not lock up less than 10 seconds into booting it up.
<rant>
Imagine, if you would, you just bought a new car. You start it up, drive a hundred feet or so and it dies. You start it back up, only to have it do exactly the same thing, except this time it doesn’t go as far. You try this several times, until you decide to walk back to the dealer and complain to the sales rep that sold you the car. He ignores you. You contact his manager. He says that you can expect to have a response to your inquiry sometime in the next 24-48 hours, with no guarantees that he can provide a solution.
Would you be alright with that?
</rant>
Bear, I don't understand why you think Bioware wouldn't fix it, the longer something like this goes unfixed, the number of people who will encounter this problem will only increase. Something like that could lead someone to take some form of legal action. Bioware could have made this a bit easier on themselves if they would actually acknowledge this problem on the forums. I haven't seen anything on this forum that even looks like an official response from Bioware on this.
The worst thing about this is that they have yet to even acknowledge that this problem even exists. I am not asking for the moon here, a simple "Yes we know about this and we are working on a solution," or "We are aware of this problem and here is how to work around it," would suffice. I mean is one sentence really that difficult? I did pay for it; I at least expect it to work. Barring that, I expect some customer support to help me make it work. Considering my game doesn't work, and support says it will contact me again in "up to" 48 hours. Hmm, "Contact," that’s no guaranty that they’ll even have a fix for it, or even a proper response to it. The last time I contacted EA customer support they closed my ticket with no response, zero help given, and no explanation as to why it was closed. So I put no and have no faith in EA customer support.
I would greatly appreciate an official response from Bioware.

- # of views does not correlate to # of people with said problem.
- Perspective rant.
- Bear, argument does not make sense. The longer said problem persists, the more people will have said problem.
- Dissatisfied with the lack of response to this issue.
- Requesting Bioware for an official response on this.

I am too, just not happy I had to hijack a different thread to get one.
Also just to let you EA support has provided zero help with this. Their own deadline came and went with not so much as a word from them.

Figured out the reason why I got the black screen was because of the "recently played on another xbox" bug that erases all saves about the game and freezes the screen, but then you can play again. Mine however did not freeze causeing me to "corrupt" my last save which then lead to the "black screen of omg I'm f***ed", and ended me curling up in the corner of my room and playing my own version of mass effect in my head.

I don't have this issue. Going off of what that thread says happens with this issue. Still have all of my achievements, no save game issues with other games either.
Edit:
So you have yours working/playable now, correct?

My game froze at a loading screen. When I rebooted I got the black screen of doom while I'm under my gamer profile.
The only thing I haven't done is delete saves....which is like the nuclear option. That's why a response is needed.
