Fair enough, but I think ramming it was the least risky option, other than letting it get away. Which was not an option at all, of course.Galatean wrote...

Yes, becaues ramming it so hard that it crashes and bursts into flames is so much safer for the data...[smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/angry.png[/smilie]Sgt Stryker wrote...
Shooting the shuttle down could have destroyed the Cerberus bot, taking the prothean archive data with it.
Not really sure what else he could have done. He either blasts it out of the sky, or lets it go, or rams it and tries to shunt it back down onto the pad. Personally, even if I didn't already know how it would have turned out, he made the best decision.
True, I'm just saying that none of the options were exactly safe for the data, and all of them were very risky.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying 'you're wrong I'm right kthnxbai' or anything like that. I just don't understand why people link the minor mention of a hum to something entirely different. At the end of the day, I'm fairly sure - given the experience and understanding of indoctrination the crew of the Normandy have - that they would have noticed if they started suffering the effects seen on the Reaper videos back in ME2.
In fact, as far as I'm aware, a low background hum has never been mentioned as a potential symptom of indoctrination.

I get that - the point i'm making is Vega chose the least risky option. No-one is saying that any of them are safe.

I never even talked to Vega, he was completely useless...
Talking to crew mates can unlock new bonus powers for you. Also, if you play a class that is not combat orientated, Vega can be mighty handy when you need DPS, and he rarely dies. Just IMHO.
Anyway, I only heard Vega talk about a hum once, but I can hear hum all the time... mostly from my poor old overworked GPU

I play with headphones, and there's a noise you can hear in the shuttle bay and nowhere else on the ship. I'd hardly call it a hum though. Genuinely sounds like engine noise.
