Just clearing this up because it seems to be confusing a lot of people. The whole thing with the Stargazer and the kid is that the Stargazer has finished the story of Shepard (trilogy closure), but the kid still wants to hear more (fan audience). So, the Stargazer begins to talk again and we open up on Shepard BEFORE the attack on the Cerberus Base, giving him a chance to have more exploits and adventures (because the player now knows the Cerberus Base is the beginning of the end).

TLDR: The "another story" is just referring to DLC mini-plots that occur chronologically before the moving of the Citadel, et al.

We are aware. And bioware can put this pre-final dlc in their skin-pockets.

They better give us the option to disable this particular scene. Otherwise I want to see the DLC where Shepard transports into the future and kills both of them, that's how much I hated this scene.

It was ****ing terrible, and Bioware was terrible for making it.

Yeah far as I'm concerned I won't be buying any chronologically "pre-final battle" DLC for ME3.

I just won't be. I just destroyed the galaxy to save it. My Shepard is dead.

I don't want to see him ever again. I can't even be bothered to play multi-player.

The galaxy is over. I'm not dealing with chronologically irrelevant DLC that is released AFTER I already know I've just destroyed the entire civilized galaxy.

Yeah, I agree. I actually excavated this account a few hours ago JUST to come here and cry about the ending. However, there are enough threads about that already. I was trying to make the OP be factual and not whiny.

It's all pointless. I won't play it. It's pointless.
Take back Omega? Pointless. It will blow up.
Recover Prothean info? Pointless. It will be redundant in short order.
Anything else? POINTLESS.

Galactic society won't recover for millenia because YOU KILLED THEM ALL and those that are left will be fighting over meagre resources in isolated systems. You might as well have let the Reapers do their thing, at least the next cycle would've had 50,000 years of civilisation and maybe come up with a way to not do King Reaper's bidding.

In all 2 or so years I've been on this sight, it has constantly been whiny and immature, but this is the first time ever I feel that the outrage on display is truly justified. So if you want to complain about the horrid endings, I welcome you to join.

As a side note, I have had my RAEGFACE avatar for years. I took it to mock all the ridiculous '"righteous/moral indignation" that has always been present on these boards. Imagine my suprise when I find that the very same mocking avatar now depicts precisely how I feel...

This from a guy who has been one of the biggest Bioware fanboys ever since KOTOR, defended many of the design decisions regarding DA2, who bought ME1 2 & 3 all on the day they came out, and who has beaten me1 and 2 at least 50 times combined. That being said, I will not be replaying this game or buying DLC unless the endings are changed, and I doubt I will have enough faith in Bioware to buy another one of their games either.

I think they broke me...

Really what would make me really happy is have BioWare lie when they said it was the end to Shepard's story. Have Shepard wake up in ME4 on the Normandy fleeing from Earth blowing up. Find some other way for him to take down the Reapers.

Yeah, that's great, except who wants to go on more adventures when they already know that no matter what they do the outcome of the ending won't change. It will always be "Choose your pill, red, blue or green and enjoy the same scene with slight alterations."

Yup. You failed at stopping them, Harby's laser knocked you out, the Normandy came and picked you up, and the fleets are retreating.

However, they engaged the Reapers long enough for the geth and/or the quarians to figure out a way whereby they can drop the Reaper's shields, and thus all you need to is regroup the fleets, convince them to fight one last battle, and this time you win by the fleets taking down the Reapers.

The end.

I wouldn't have minded it if we got a good ending to go with it. Than I'd be like, cool, he's a legend in the future because of his heroics. But all the endings (to cut down my verbosity) sucked. So I guess the Old Man says...what? "Here's the story of a guy who spent 5 years piddling about when all he had to do was explore the citadel and destroy the universe himself"?

With the knowledge that your choices will be impacting your experience in the next installment.

Or was supposed to.

I know since ME2 release that choice would not matter that much. I mean just look at DAII or ME2. You can't expect to have your choice matter after that.

My exact feelings on the matter.

The ending of ME3 made the entire fight against the Reapers irrelevant because the same thing occurred to the galaxy that would have occurred had no one stopped them in the first place.

Shepard would have been better portrayed as a grief counselor who went around the galaxy just convincing all the races to accept their fate as compared to the monumental effort he put into KILLING THEM ALL ANYWAYS.

We can't defeat the reapers conventionally. It's almost Better if they found a way to resett the 50000 years thing and give them thatucj longer to. Fifer out a solution. Or not.

Agreed, this is how I saw it ending after Mass Effect 1.. but that was 5 years ago.. I guess Bioware went the slow-indoctrination process...

It's... all kind of pointless, especially if you're assuming destruction of the Mass Relays means destruction of the entire system. Not only is the Citadel a Mass relay, but the Charon relay would be destroyed as well. Earth is DOUBLE screwed by the destruction of the Mass Relays.
