How many backpacks can hold such heavy equipment without stumbling? Or have so much room for so much stuff?

A wizard did it.

That's actually a thing in D&D, I don't know how many of you are familiar. Bag of Holding, it's called.

Seems like an essential commodity, if you're going to do a lot of hard traveling with your pockets full of gold and spare swords.

Some fans will say "why need to buy armor and weapon? Just get Juggernaut armor, or Dragonbone armor!"....yeah right, to get Juggernaut armor you have to kill 3 super powerful Revenants with leutenant rank undead companions, 2 liutenant Shade and a crazy spirit mage, and also kill undead, werewolves, sylvans all the way....

To get dragonbone armor you have to clean up Redcliff from undead, going to Circle Tower to clean up abominations, have to fight all the enemies in the Haven and ruin and caves before killing the high dragon, maybe get roadblocks by bandits and beasts before arrived at Denerim...

Broken economy is broken, broken game is broken....

So you do indeed, then, fall into the category of "has difficulty with the game."  If you cannot defeat the Revenants in Brecilian Forest then THAT is why you are having money problems.  The Revenants and their minions are killable with CORRECT TACTICS and a few health and mana potions (yes -these are the fights where players should use a potion or two).

And if you find fighting your way through Recliffe, Haven, and the Temple of Andraste unfair and too long, then what is even the point of playing a Role Playing Game?  There are SUPPOSED to be immersive dungeons.  There are SUPPOSED to be difficult dragons and mid-level bosses to slay.

Seriously - it sounds to me like most of your problem with DAO's economy is that you bought a fantasy adventure game and you got a fantasy adventure game.

(edit for spelling)

Economy is broken in DA:O

Have you heard? There's a civil war and a blight spreading through the land. You can expect inflation. We even get a hint of it with the merchant in Lothering who charges exorbitant prices to refugees for things they desperately need. True we can resolve that situation, but what's stopping other merchants from doing the same? Same thing in real life. In times of war or strife, prices rise.

And this.  I was not even going to go into this, but it is a good explanation why goods are expensive.

Y'know - just to be clear - I have NO PROBLEM with people not enjoying DA: Origins. It's when I read reasons that don't hold water that I post rebuttles.

In Otagar backpack worth around 50 silver , after Lothering backpack worth around 6-7 sovereign, that is the hell unrealistic, the 50 silver backpack will add 10 more slot the same with 7 sovereign backpack. Backpack after Lothering are made of dragon skin or what? It is expansive than upgraded armor!

Bioware love to make vendors sells things with ridiculous price, i remember in KotOR Suvam Tan will sell you piece of gloves worth 6000-8000 credits!

Some fans justify "in the end game i have no problem with money"....yeah you are at the end game, in which the game will end soon, and at the end game you have all those quest items, in early game you don't.

im Sorry but you are completely wrong. There is no broken economy. Stuff costs what it costs. The reasons thigns are cheap early on, is beccause you wont have much money, and because of the way the story goes you wont be able to visit that seller past a certain point. Where as later stuff is more expensive because you can always go back and visit the seller, once you have more money.

Also what do you expect to have all the best stuff at the beginning of the game? Thats not how it works, its usally always the case you get the best things at or near the end. Its called progression.

and just cause your mad that you have a hard time fighting against some difficult battles for good armor is no execuse to call the game broken.

You do not need the exploit in this game. If you manage your money you can actually buy al lthe best stuff this game has to offer. and then some.

All that you say actually best describes DA2 to the T, only worse considering  you only have the act your in to buy certain items, plus junk items arent worth anything.

No. of course not. 7 gold really is nothing even in early on. Im talking about the 100+ gold items that certain sellers have

some even justified 7 sovereign backpack is enchanted backpack, but if you only buy 1 backpack from the quartermaster at Ostagar in which cost 50 silver, you still can carry 10 heavy armors with it..duh...

And backpack more expansive than higher tier weapon and armor

you guys know the economy is broken, untested before release, but still want to justify...

because it isnt broken. You have probelms because of missmanagment and seeing some high prices. That is not an execuse.

Ive explained the reason why they are more. Sure it may seem more expensive then some armor. But the highest armor still can sell for more. but more importantly you have to weigh how much 10 more spaces is worth to you. For alot of peoples its life saving when going though long dungeons only for your bag to be filled, and have to go all the way back to sell. If anything thats a problem with bag limits, not because a bag is worth what may seem like alot, but really isnt.

yeah...then they give you DLC that give you party chest...so what the hell..?

Dwarf Noble may get 25 sovereign early on, if the player is smart, dwarf noble can collect about 50 sovereign after Lothering, that isn't broken?

On my first playthrough I had no clue in Thedas what I was doing and was playing a poor as a churchmouse Dalish Elf and yet I did just fine when it came to coin. I really think it has to do more with your decision-making throughout the game than anything to do with the game's economy. I honestly never worry too much about money in the game anyways. I find that half the time I can use persuade or intimidate to get people to do what I want and money isn't even a factor.

You can collect plenty of money. Certainly it means waiting a little longer than say the dwarf, thats just one of the things of picking a race and origin. Any race can collect a good amount if as you said 'the player is smart" just like rogues get to have a skill point or w/e every 2 lvls, compared to other classes every 3.

What i mean by "if the player is smart" is

1. don't buy anything from Orzamar to Ostagar to Lothering
2. just sell things

Even so 50 sovereign is just for two tomes from Bodhan

if someone have no prob, doesn't mean the game is not broken

There is a way around purchasing tomes, to not spend money, and in subsequent playthourghs you no longer need em. Even so you dont have to buy everything right away just cause its there for you to buy.

you statement works both ways. Just cause someone has a problem, doesnt mean the game is broken.

Even if all the backpacks are enchanted, it's not like the Warden carries them around. That is why you get Shale the shiny sarcastic bird-hating super packmule, and her carrying around everything is canon as well.

I loved the gameplay/advancements of dragon age 2 alot more, but origin has story. DA2 though has nothing, its a completely linear story, and it just comes to such an abrut end

It probably doesn't cost that much because: A) the quartermaster has to sell his goods at a fair price considering everyone is in a ****ing battle and doesn't have access to a paycheck and B) the player's not going to have 10 suits of heavy plate armor at that time.

I didn't have 10 suits of armor, but I needed it to carry all of Alistair's pretty dresses.

Personally, I just think the whole "you must pay coin to increase your inventory space" feature to be silly. Inventory space should be based on either your Character's stats (strength/constitution), or party makeup. (say, if you're traveling with Shale, Sten and Oghren then +60 inventory slots. If you're traveling with Wynne, Morrigan and Zevran then +20 inventory slots.)

Otherwise, if it  just has to be tied to money, then it should be an inconsequential cost (50 silver, always... like it is in DA2. Or better yet: Free. You should be able to find backpacks as loot in dungeons).

Its funny though, Bioware devs are always the first ones to say that they wish to do away with unneccessary "real world" stuff that does nothing but hinder fun (Sim-play, as they call it). Paying good coin for increased storage space must have slipped under their Anti-sim gameplay radar for 2  games in a row.

I never say i want the goods to be cheap, my point is the game doesn't provide us to gain money to buy those expansive items.

in KotOR at least there are mini games such as Pazaak and swoop racing, in DA:O there are none, economy in DA:O just based on quest reward and selling loots, it is not enough and broken, that is why players will use EXPLOITS.

When the players use exploits automatically the game is broken.

I give another example, you fought hard to buy Ring of Ages or Reaper Vestment, by the time you acquire it, you have no worry about mages anymore, you already kill them all.

You killed all the mages? Really? I guess there aren't any Darkspawn Emissaries running around in your Fereldan. But I ran into quite a few.

Also, the player is not forced to use exploits. I didn't even know those existed until I read this post and I have played through the game many times.

People like you guys who make Bioware making bad games, you guys deny and always deny, that is not good. When people give criticism because they care, i am not thumb down Bioware games, i just give a fact, if you guys continue to DENY, then don't get mad when users thumb down Bioware games in the future...

I am not saying Bioware is perfect. But I am saying that I do not believe this is a game flaw, and even if it is a game flaw, it does not then therefore make the game "broken." I do not think we are trying to "deny", so much as we are trying to show another perspective and opinion. People have opinions. We are funny like that.
