Let's not only blame the writers. The producers let it happen too. It took a whole team to f*ck this one up.

Either this writer is the worst one in history or he is the biggest troll ever after we find out in the next DLC that these endings were all a hallucination.

The ending was convoluted and weird- I might expect that from Final Fantasy, but not ME. I wanted to talk to the crew afterward (assuming I lived). I died(or I think I did) but it still defaulted me back to the ship which makes no sense whatsoever.

I've been wondering the same thing about the hallucinations... And if that's true how dare they make us pay for a real ending.

I really would love to see decisions affect the outcome a bit more.

For example, the GodKid says that the cycle is a a must because synthetics will destroy organics.

So, if you were to resolve the confilct with the Geth, Shepard should be able to use that as a argument.
Something along the of ... See them fighting along side their creators, the Quarians? the only reason the rebelled against anyone at all was because of YOU.

Win for Shepard here.

If you managed to fail resolving the conflict .. the Geth Wipe out the Quarians etc ...
Then the Godkid can use that against Shepard.
Along the lines of, This is what I am protecting you from. It will happen every cycle blah blah ...
Win for GodKid.

In which case, the current ending would be a bit more justified .. in the sense you cant disprove anyhting he says or argue what hes saying.
In essence, it could be one of the bad endings.

And then so-on for other major issues. Shepard can use experiences to persuade or affect the end decision, rather than ..
GODKID: Oh, this is how it is. Choose a color.
SHEAPRD: OK, I believe everything regardless of all Ive seen and been through. I'll do it right awyay,.

Obviously, Im no writer obviously, but hopefully you get the point.
Outcomes & decsions would and should have a greater  impact on the end. And I suppose this is what I was expecting.
Of course there needs to be more than this one example and there still needs to be some form of Epilogue though.

I want to know the overall results and how it affects everyone.    And I want to see a baby Wrex darnit!!

If all of this was a "trap" for us i will not pay for it. I can expect a failure from Bioware and pay for a fix, i will not pay again for the ending wich is not in the game i pay for because bioware found this "funny".

So we get these endings because Shepard's has had enough? I'm sorry but that's not how I imagined Shepard at all. Sure, she's tired but I can't ever imagine her ever giving up. I imagine her taking a nice long vacation but feeling the need to go back to work, much lighter work, like saving people from pirates. Shepard is a figther, she won't make death easy to get her, whether your Shepard is renegade, paragon or in between..

You know I can deal with a Shepard dying at the end... yeah it sucks it would have alot better than these endings then destroying the Relays even make it worst because it proves even more that The Catalyst is right... when whole point of the game is the prove him wrong. Hell you can even do this three conversations based on the three endings..with leaving the Relays in tact because they are back bone of the franchise... they did not need to be destroyed at all.

Control
Do you think they can control this and destory themselves
Yes- everything we have been through shows that we can over our differences, use technology to better ourselves and world around us.. not just to destroy each other.

Synthesis
Do you think they are ready?
Yes- its time to move forward, we showed that Organics and Synthetics can live in peace.
But are they ready for the responsibility of the power they now have. Can be sure they won't simply repeat the same mistakes.
They deserve the chance to try ... whatever the outcome but Yes I believe they won't because we made it this far.

Destroy .
So in the end you prove me correct..
No- We are going to prove you wrong, we will rebuild with out your influence with out your help. On our terms, It may take years but they will do it and when they do you'll it and show that you were never needed from the start.

Guys. I'm going to say this preemptively. I know its tempting, but don't threaten him, don't call him names and ask for him to be fired or humiliated. We're better than that. Sending him a mature letter listing your grievances is ok. Don't do anything that will reflect badly upon the fans as a whole.

This. Very much this.

Same any form of threat or insults only discredit our grievances.  We need to maintain a clear, mature, rational
, and logical stand point.  We must hold the line!

Agreed.

This was a pathetic effort.

Though one has to admit it takes a certain amount of skill to ruin one of the best scifi series with over 150 hours of gameplay in the space of 5 minutes.

It's nice to have it confirmed that this was solely Mac Walters fault.

So, I vote we demand Patrick Weekes, aka; the guy that writes 90% of what I love most about ME, gets to do some alternative endings as DLC.

I will glady fork out 70 quid for it.

The moderators should just close this thread before this gets ugly. Sadly not all the fans here are capable of voicing their opinion in a respectful manner... We don't need to resort to personal attacks to tell Bioware why we didn't like the endings.

Also don't forget that a few days before ME3 release they changed the forum code of conduct to make it clear that personal attacks would get you permanently banned.

I'm not a conspiracy nut but I don't buy coincidence here ....
