Yeah, I don't see the point of playing SP as it stands right now - and as it will probably remain. Therefore, I won't buy a SP DLC, and since MP (while a fun distraction) won't hold my attention, or the game on my hard drive, I'll uninstall and forget.

So, while I wouldn't say I'm officially boycotting anything, and I believe this might be true for a number of players, I simply won't see the need to bother with anything the producers will try to sell me.

Whether this actually makes a difference is another matter altogether. They already got my money for the game, I have no knowledge of how the figures scale, but the revenue from DLC would be a marginal profit in scope of the millions made on the core game.

I love Chris Priestly reply to the endings saying it was always going to be a bitter sweet ending. Last time I checked they said 12 endings taking your chocies into consideration not ONE fecking ending with different colours.

I don't care about bitter sweet endings what I want is an ending that makes sense have any of them played the game

Also I aint buying any DLC as I don't see the point as they don't matter like we were lead to beleive

What's the point of boycotting? It will never work.
Look at Activision with their crap games MW2/3 and Black Ops. I did not get them still people gets them.
Look at Ubisoft with their dreadful DRM. I did not get their games but still people get them.

If they are going to make DLC/s for this game people will get it. I included to explain to I what happened last night including the stuff they left out. The ending has more holes then Swiss cheese. I don't want a Hollywood ending like Return of the Jedi. Star Wars too black and white. I knew the series will have a black ending.

With the DLC for the single player I want to get more ESP points so I don't have to get them from multi-player. Sooner or later their will be a wane with the multi-player and get no one to play with.

This game for I will be the final game to get from BioWare.

I shall state again. I will not buy. I play for the story.
The story these DLCs will provide is irrelevant. Anything you do, any success you achieve will be meaningless.
You're doing.. what? Helping people who will die.
Taking places that will be destroyed.
Gathering info that will be lost.

Same. I am not going to buy any DLCs if Bioware doesn't do something about the ending. There is just no point in playing pre-ending DCLs because it just won't matter in the end. :(

We're well aware that EA and BioWare intend to release DLC for ME3 just like they did for ME and ME2.

And I was pretty happy with the Origin integration of DLC (for PC, and I'm not an Origin fan btw) so I was overall fairly upbeat about the potential of more Mass Effect after ME3.

We all know how the endings go (and those that don't will find out soon enough) and we all agree they're horrible endings.

Some are calling for retcons, I'm not.

I am simply saying, vote with your wallet. Buy no further DLC for this game.

BioWare made their choice with how to end this series, don't encourage their decision by being lemmings and immediately throwing 10 dollars at anything they produce that has the brand name on it.

They chose this end. We don't need new endings. We must simply show them that we unequivocally consider their ending to be "the end" and not support any further content that is introduced to the franchise.

Stop playing multiplayer. Remove Mass Effect from your "Likes" on Facebook, do whatever you like. But vote with your wallet, BioWare chose the end of Mass Effect. Let them know that it is definitely the end.

My respect to all BioWare developers and employees. Lets try to keep this thread civil.

EDIT FOR RECENT EVENTS:

Well
Casey Hudson has responded to the contreversy about the end of ME3

This is now the only effective method of responsible, adult disagreement with their choices.

Its time to chose. Will you continue to buy ME related development? Or will you close your wallet now that its said and done?

I've closed my wallet. I will respect the fact that others may feel they can support future development, and I'm not, in any way, insulting anyone  that does.

I hope, I sincerly hope that people wake up.  I'm not going to repost my long long post showing how many different ways the "tactical RPG lover" from ME 1 has been totally shafted by ME 3.  It's clear that the generic endings were to cater to the "NEW" ME 3 players.  Alloing long time fans to have better endings would tick off the "NEW:" fans.  There are more "NEW" ME 3 players than orginal ME 1 players, a LOT more.  Casual Gears of Wars players are the obvious audience of Bioware now.  There are MORE of them.  Forcing people to play multiplayer to get the "Better endings" or make perfect none what they want to do choices... is just so wrong, to the single player gamer...

So, please don't buy any DLC from Bioware.  They are DONE with you single player turnbased/ tactical RPG players.  Which is why everyone got the SAME endings.  All of the choices did NOT matter prior to the end, so you may as well have been playing Gears of War.

Bioware isn't the first company to go after bigger $$$ and a larger fan base, can't blaime a business for that.  But you need to realize if you are a fan of single player RPGS Bioware is moving on.  Any $$$ you give them with DLC is a vote by you saying YES Bioware you are doing the "right" thing.  I support you.  So, if you were a fan of the original ME 1 or DA 1... you're making sure you'll never get that kind of game again from Bioware with every $ you spend on DLC of ME 3.

If you didn't carea bout the choices or the promised specific ending derived from ME 1 and ME 2 choices or single player rpgs... of course you'll buy the DLC.  You are the new lover of Bioware.

Why stop at just DLC for ME3? Bioware has outright lied with DA2, SWTOR, and now ME3 on multiple occasions over a long period of time. For me Bioware will not be seeing any more money from me. For DLC, future games, or a TOR sub.

Why would I essentially renounce my passion for ME as a series? The ending may have been a letdown for many but that doesn't invalidate ME as a whole for me at all. I have the lithographs, figures, shirts, etc etc etc. and can't wait for dlc to see where they go with it next. I love ME and that hasn't changed, no matter how bad the ending could be.

Unless they change the endings to fit the themes of the series instead of this confusing, depressing mess it is right now, I won't be purchasing DLC or anything from Bioware/EA period. No point in buying DLC if everything I do with the content is rendered pointless by the ending.

Generally I'm not in favor of boycotts, but this is one I can get behind because it seems to match the punishment with the crime. The whole point of dlc is to give fans more of the story they want - usually fleshing out favorite characters, etc. Since they always SAY they develop dlc based on what fans want, this seems an appropriate field on which to hold the line.

I always suspect that, at least with BioWare's more recent games, that they had most of the DLC planned out before-hand. Let's see how it really works.

Yes it does. Nothing you did matters and at he end of ME3 there is no more  MEU. If there is a ME4 it would have no connection at all to any of the previous games because the MEU was nuked to the Dark Ages.

If they don't fix the ending to ME3, BioWare won't see another dime from me...ever.

And i'm one of those that own Collector's Editions of their games, pre-orders them...heck, I have physical AND digital copies of pretty much all of their games. I have been a loyal fan...but lying about ME3 is like a knife to back...honestly, i'd rather take a knife to the back than take an ending to the knee.

It's really mind-boggling - BioWare stands to gain soooooo muchhhhh from appeasing its fanbase by fixing the ending, that it's not even funny. People are so desperate now, on top of feeling betrayed and frustrated, that it would be the ultimate redemption if they came out and said that they would release alternate endings. If they did that - they'd likely have the support and trust of the fanbase back, and we'd all be married to BioWare for life.

But if they don't pull through...all of those faithful fans that have supported them through all of these years will take their business elsewhere. The longer they drag this out...the angrier people are going to get, until they decide to just vote with their wallets and avoid anything BioWare-related in the future.

In closing...there's also no motivation to buy any sort of DLC regarding the SP campaign until the ending is fixed - I mean, did they REALLY expect us to invest more time into ME3 by buying additional content that has NO EFFECT on the ending that we're all totally disgusted by?

I won't buy any dlc until a Alternate Ending is released.
Not really out of any principle, I just don't see any point.

I'll only buy ME3 DLC if its to fix the ending. Unless no way. I finished playing with my paragon and renegade characters and honestly I cba to play it again... not like ME2: I loved how all your previous choices regarding your crew and ship upgrades mattered. I even wanted to make a playthrough with a Shepard who doesn't give a .... about things and see my squad dying :P

But in ME3? To have 3 different endings (yeah, 16, but the difference between those are so slim that it doesn't worth a shot) it's not worth it.

I expected ME3 to have an ending where all your previous choices count and you can assign your squad members to different tasks at the ending just like at ME2.

The ending of ME3 not just ruined the third game but the whole trilogy. Just before a week ME3 released I've started a new game in ME1 (I even bought ME1 and ME2 DD edition on Origin to support the dev team: I've had the Central EU version of ME1 published by CD Project not EA + Pinnacle Station and the normal version of ME2. Now I regret of doing so) but seeing how ME3 ends I just don't want to play it again. Because it pointless. The ending of ME3 is so inconsistent with the previous 2 games (and even the third) that I just don't want to play it.

I might send a huge mail to BW and express my ideas about how should've ME3 ended. But atm I don't want to hear any more Mass Effect... I feel stupid for buying the games again and show my support in this way... I just feel utterly stupid of doing so... thanks BW... :(

If ME3 doesn't get the ending that the ME series deserve, I agree, I won't buy ME3 DLCs.

I liked DA2, not so much as DA:O, but I bought all the DLCs. Now... Nope, until this is fixed.

Let's suppose for a moment that Bioware really did not mean to have us take the ending(s) at face value and seriously did mean for what we all saw to be allegory. Let's suppose they also intended to later address and "fix" the ending even before the game was released. Would it really please any of you to see this add-on then? After all, that would mean that Bioware deliberately sabotaged their own product in order to scam at least another ten dollars from us. As much as I don't want to believe that Bioware would do something so shady, unethical, and outrageous, the endgame message that outright encourages us to look forward to DLC kind of indicates that that is the plan.

Not entirely, but it was indeed patched out in major titles. Which is all we are asking for: a patch to fix the endings. Image IPB
