I don't know about boycotting, but i know i'm not buying the DLCs unless they are related to fixing the ending or giving you new ones. Why buy DLC for Mass Effect if it won't effect the ending?

This is actually how I feel (though, if I'm being completely realistic, I'll totally buy DLC, because I am a consumer ****).

Nothing I did in any of the games had any bearing on the "three" (and I use that number loosely) endings. So, what would be the point of DLC that gave me more war assests that didn't matter?

Biggest problem is what has been seen cannot be unseen.

It can: "The final 5 minutes with the kid was hallucination - and here is what's really happened."

Doesn't work. Viable in explanation given Shepards physical state at the time (though hey, who cares if you dodged all of Harbinger's lasers and all that, you get blasted into unconciousness anyways without a choice) but its done.

If they didn't want this end, it wouldn't have been written into the game. This end was as good as BioWare simply saying goodbye to the franchise, themselves. You don't destroy your entire fictional galaxy as a method of leaving it open to potential reuse in further story telling.

boycotting Me3 dlc will be extremely easy as the endings made any dlc completely unappealing and pointless

Quoted for truth. That's going to be the popular reaction.

I don't agree with the premise of the thread though. I've spent too much money and man hours into this series to not want them to alter the ending options.

Usually, the "I won't buy dlc that should have been in the game to begin with" crap arguments I don't agree with. But if they do release dlc that *fixes* the ending, I am not buying. Seriously! All possible endings should have been in the game to begin with.

As far as any other dlc, I'm npt sure I can emotionally take playing this game again anytime soon, and I'm only 3/4 of the way through it.

I have no problem with DLC consumption and I think its a great monetizing force for titles to turn a profit on past their shelf dates.

I'll buy DLC for any game that I feel warrants it. I bought a DDE and a CE edition of ME3 cause I really wanted the promo items that came with it.

Now I sort of feel duped cause as cool as those promo items were...I literally could not be paid to play ME3 again knowing how it ends, its literally on the edge of that traumatizing.

I loved my N7 Defender Armor, I loved that Valkyrie and my Argus, but I'll never use them again unless they patch them into the multi-player portion of the game....cause Mass Effect is over.

I cannot replay it knowing that no matter what I do it ends the same way.

Honestly, pushing for a boycott really won't change much. That said, I simply have no desire to play any ME3 DLC when it has zero effect on the outcome of the game.

Well good you have sort of joined usImage IPB.  Bioware has really hurt its fanbase between the Day 1 DLC(I bought it before the ending, and didn't really mind.), DA2 ( I liked it, but many did not), making SWTOR a MMO ( I purchased it).  Sadly though, I can follow them no more without them fixing the ending, or giving me back many lost hours of time

Oh, I'm pretty much a full-on fanboy.  I had, on this computer:

Baldur's Gate
Baldur's Gate II
Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhall
Jade Empire
Mass Effect + all DLC
Mass Effect II + all DLC
Mass Effect III + DLC
Dragon Age: Origins + DLC
Dragon Age: Origins: Awakening
Dragon Age II + all DLC

I never re-installed NWN on this machine when I built it for some reason, dunno why, but I played it and all the expansions many times, and spent hundreds of hours on persistant worlds.

I do still have my TOR copy installed, but that's because I was an idiot and paid for a 6-month subscription at launch.  My payment info has since been cleared and the account is due to cancel after that 6 months is up, so I'll probably uninstall THAT then.

And now not only has everything but TOR been uninstalled, but I'm not buying ANY other BW games until I've seen reviews from people who've played the game all the way through.

If Bioware puts a price tag on a new ending for ME3, I'm done with Bioware.

Absolutely, no DLC for me until the ending is fixed. What's the point in fixing things in a galaxy irreparably destroyed at the end?

Then you're probably done with Bioware.  While the devs may well try to fix this, they'll only get the green light from EA if they think it'll help the bottom line, and EA is notorious for only looking at the short term.  Look at the decision to 'fast-track' DA2.

i dont mind paying for a damn fix as long as its fixed......its still unbelievable to me that BW would actually let this go and be ok with it

I'm not going to participate in any kind of boycott because I tend to associate them with raging fans who will buy the DLC anyways.

On a personal level, I can tell you I won't be purchasing any DLC for several reasons. However, the biggest reason is this: what's the point? I don't care if I take back Omega, find the Halo Array, or find out I was re-living the memories of my long-lost relative via some weird machine, in the end the endings will always be the same.

As for ending DLC... still a no-go. The original left such a bad taste in my mouth, it'd have to be mind-blowingly extraordinary for me to even consider it.

I will be DLC only if it adds new endings. Otherwise it's a waste of money and time.

Like many others, I bought all the DLC for ME1 and 2, but unless BW deliver an appropriate FREE ending DLC I will not spend a cent on any product for ME, and will seriously consider buying anything they make again.
I already boycotted ToR because of the Australian release, now I doubt I will ever buy anything from Bioware / EA again.

I wouldn't pay for "fixed" endings.

A fixed ending...or "the real ending" would have to be a free DLC or patch.

If this was all some kind of ****ed up coma dream, then the DLC would literally have to wipe the entire situation of destroying every mass relay in the galaxy out of my mind in a way that is completely believable.

DLC? Pointless! Ending makes it so. Omega? Why the hell bother with it... they're screwed anyways and alters nothing. All you will be doing is feeding Bioware's greed and corruption. They chose this direction and to end this poorly, now they can reap the consequences they sowed and I wouldn't be surprised if this ending alone for all who will and have played will forever stain the name of Bioware. I have lost all faith in Bioware by this one ending. Unless they can completely redeem themselves then it's dead to me.

I'll only buy ME3 DLC if its a fix.

As for future Bioware games, i'll do something that will screw them over, but still allow me to play any of their games that interest me...

I'll buy em used from Gamestop.

Developers and Producers don't see a cent of profit from used sales.

I've loved you, Bioware. You were my favorite developer whose games and DLC were an instant pre-order and download. Now you've probably been demoted to the Wait A Few Months and See If It's At All Good category.

Well someone on 4chan predicted the Kasumi and LoTSB DLC. Maybe the new guy is right with the new DLC list, if that's the case it'll be a little bit hard to boycott it OP. :P

We are in the same boat, sir. I won't buy anything from EA or BW until they give us satisfied ending. And that include iPad and iPhone application. They need to be taught.

There was nothing on that unsubstantiated list that would mean a damn thing in regards to ME3 and how it ended.

Retake Omega with Aria? Great, who cares, its just going to get destroyed when the Omega relay's explode.

If we don't get a revised ending, sure. I won't give them another penny.

Dream on.

Given the variations in the ending, it would only be feasible for a very small subset of playthroughs, unless they have some crazy plot cooked up (something even crazier than the way this thing ends).

The only reason to hope is if you're a glutton for disappointment.

While I see what you mean about the futility of the gesture (and I also find this DLC list largely unlikely, except for the weapon and/or armor packs that are bound to come), I believe it was established somewhere that not any relay destruction would cause such a massive explosion. Unfortunately, I don't remember where or when this was said, so it may just be a wishful mis-interpretation rather than anything official.

edit: That being said, I feel kinda bad not supporting the cause, but as far as I'm concerned Mass Effect is still alive, and if future DLC/Mass Effect installments look promising, I'll be there. Good luck though, this movement seems to have quite a followin.
