So here's a question for ya'll, after you destroy the reaper on Ranoch and the Fleet is attacking the geth, is there anyway to save Tali's life and side with the geth and let Legion finish his upload if your paragon score isn't high enough to use the charm option? Right as she was going over the clill a paragon interupt flashed on the screen and I thought that I hit it in time but nothing seemed to happen, I thought Shepard was going to catch her but she still went over. So is the interupt just there for Shep to try and catch her and if you don't click it he just watches her fall or what?

If you don't rescue the Admiral PRIOR to doing this mission, and you allow the upload of the Reaper code, the Geth will destroy the Quarian flotilla and Tali will commit suicide because of it.

the exact mechanics are explained in other threads, but basically you have a "rating" that depends on certain variables (3 of which are from ME2), and you need a minimum of 5 points (out of a total of 7), and enough paragon or renegade points (read: a LOT) to have the appropriate dialogue options open, then you basically yell a lot and save everyone.

So even if you do all the missions involving the geth and quarians before hand you still have to have a high enough paragon/renegade score to make peace between them? That sucks, I wouldn't really care if Tali didn't commit suicide but there really isn't a happy ending there unless you can charm or intimidate the fleet.

I ended up with Tali comitting suicide and accidentally saved. I felt like someone punched me in the stomach after watching and then realizing that I couldn't go back and fix it. In fact I was a the point I just said screw and was going to play to get to the end and do a new game plus to save her instead of enjoying the rest of the story. When I finally got some good news, such as Ash finally wanting to be back in a relationship and a couple other things, I finally came back to my senses and decided to do everything I could to get the most out of the rest of the story.

If you got a punch out of Tali dying wait until you finish the game if you haven't already... Its more of a heart ripped out of your chest and stomped on, put back into your chest then slap you in face several times.
