It's been 12 hours since I finished it and I'm still crying!

There's still a hole in my heart because of this damn ending even now.
And I know that if I tried to play any Mass Effect game I'd burst into tears all over again.

I hate what they've done.

Ugh... what's more embarassing?  That I spent hundreds of hours playing a series that was utlimately rendered pointless by the endgame destroying everything I was trying to save, OR that I'm crying like I lost my best friend over a freaking video game?

Finished my game 12 hours ago, was suprised at the odd, off-putting, confusing ending as I had played slowly and carefully to try and obtain an optimal ending.  But then, I got half my squad killed my first ME2 playthrough, so through my tears of frustration and disappointment, I tried again picking door #2 - ack, even worse!, then with increasing despair tried the door #3 after which I just sat there stunned.

Took about an hour to do all the endgames, or one box of kleenex if you care to count that way.  But yes, that was really how it was going to end.

Just the night before I had proclaimed to my hubby that ME3 was the greatest game ever... blabbing on and on about all the little things that had been done so well, never dreaming that this god-awful end was in store for me.  AND I CAN"T FIX IT!  Can't unring that bell.  My whole ME universe, GONE.  Why did I even play.

So I came to the forum, and can at least take solace in not being alone.  Thanks to all the gamers here who help me think I might not be completely freakin' insane.  I've read no few than 50 alternate endings, all of which were better than what were got.

Heck, I would've been more satisfied if Shep had unleased her space hamster on the Catalyst at the end, all the while shouting "Go for the eyes, Boo!  Go for the eyes!"

Maybe tomorrow I can contemplate ever playing any game again (I know I can't go back to ME 1, 2 or 3)... but right now anything with a plot deeper than Angry Birds leaves me wary and suspicious.

Those that finished earlier... does it get better??Image IPB

I beat the game the morning of Saturday March 10th.  Even today I am still bothered by the ending, not crying mind you, but there is a definately emotional discomfort if you will.

Whether or not it gets better is really up to Bioware.  They made a mistake with the endings.  Then they were dishonest about it (17 different endings, our choices matter, etc).  They need to swallow their pride and do Shephard the justice he (or she) deserves.  Right now I get the feeling they are being stubborn saying "we're Bioware and we say you should like the ending! *stamps foot*".

It is to Bioware's advantage to fix the ending.  That way they restore fan faith in their company and ensure the sales of future ME3 DLC.  As it stands now, at best they are hurting their own future ME3 DLC sales.  At worst, they are hurting future sales of any Bioware product.  Remember, a lot of people weren't happy with the quality of DA2, now we have this.  I for one, cancelled my TOR subscription out of protest.  If more did the same, that would hurt as that game is far from paid off.

I've just finished the game, and besides being confused, I feel like crying again, which I've been doing in the past hour. All those moments building up to the final choice are incredibly beautiful and touching, and I'm baffled by the ending. So here is to you, OP, you're not alone.

There is a "get a free hug" thread somewhere on the boards, Anada. You can find lots of comforting there. :)

I believe this is the 2nd 3 year old thread that's being opened back up in the last few weeks.. Wow.

I wonder how soon a mod will lock this thread?

I finished the game like 5 times on Wii U and twice on PC.  Loved it every single time, but no, didn't cry for any reason.  Just not an emotional kind of ending to a totally emotional roller coaster ride to get to the end.

And we are done here!

Hey this is anniversary month. This isn't worth a lock. Why create a new thread to talk about something that's in an old one?

Next Sunday will be my anniversary for blowing up the galaxy. I was in tears. The ending was a giant WTF? Did I do something wrong?

As of this far after launch, there are two kinds of posters here.

Total newcomers who have just discovered the joy of ME and are ready to talk about any and everything.

And seasoned veterans who are extremely passionate about ME and mainly want to talk about the same 3-6 topics ad infinitum, who quite frankly scare the bejezus out of the people in the first category because they've been honing their arguments (and cynicism) for 3 years.

It's well past time to relax SOME of the standards on necromancy, lest the same 20-30 people kill this forum for anyone new.

I agree. Also, some forums also have different rules that state that if a thread already exists you should post in that one. I also think the rules on topics should be relaxed because people new to the story have the same questions we did.

Remember those multiple 300 page Geth-Quarian debates? Or that 1500 page thread on Indoctrination Theory that got shuffled off to a group, and now there are no more groups?

Fortunately most threads around here don't revolve around the ending anymore.  These days the scuttlebutt forum is mostly discussion about what they are going to do with ME:Next.  These forums are pretty tolerable now.

I don't think there should be any ban on necro'ing threads unless it's obvious that someone is just doing it to spam the main page with old topics. So long as people are participating in the thread, why lock it? If you start up a new thread on the same topic, isn't that basically the same thing anyway?
