If the Reapers and Catalyst are so worried about new synthetic life wiping out ALL organic life... why not ally with advanced organics to keep anti-organic synthetics in check, while leaving peaceful ones alone?  The whole "salvation through destruction" sounds profound, but it's total BS.

Even better, why God-kid cant make Reapers build crucible and then merge organic\\synthetic life and end cycles right away.

BUT NOOO MASS GENOCIDE SO MUCH EASIER

Because then we wouldn't get to hear Harbinger lob sub-bass robotic threats at us throughout the whole second game. Ergo, there would be no Harbinger Windows 7 Theme.

Duh.

Shhh stop talking sense. Better question is why were the Reaper's enlisting the help of the Geth? Wasn't that what they were supposed to be preventing?!

No, see, they prevent synthetic life from exterminating organic life by forcing synthetics to attack organics and...

Wait, you see if they guarded organic life then they would not be... um...

Honestly, it just feels like the Catalyst was trying to indoctrinate Shepard.  Goddamn, I hate to admit this, but I will totally buy a DLC that presents this very scenario.  I would pay good money for Shepard to say "**** YOU" to Star-God-Reaper-Kid and find another solution.

Because making sense is impossible for Bioware... Seriously in my play through the Quarians and the geth ended a 300 year war. Why didn't shepard mention this? Because it would make too much sense.

Because organics would out-evolve the stagnant Reapers.

Eventually, our machines would be better than their machines, and we would win. And then our machines would kill us.

The real problem is why preserve organic civilizations that you're going to purge (by creating new Reapers). You have enough to be unstoppable. There's no earthly reason to keep making more.

But it's all moot, because they're no longer able to hold organics in check. Until the next genius species creates Citadel 2.0.

How in the world did ANYONE in ANY of Bioware's meetings not say, "um, guys... this **** doesn't make sense."

Well Saren did that, not Sovereign, in fact Sovereign was completely indifferent to the Geth (mentioned word by word in ME1 by Saren on Virmire). I'm not saying there's no plot holes mind you. I just wanted to clear that one up, Sovereign couldn't give a rats' gonads about the Geth really, he just let them be, because it served its ultimate purpose, they were not allies to "it" (Sovereign), more like pions.

They were mere tools, and Saren or not, Sovereign allowed advanced Reaper technology to be distributed to the Geth, such as Husk converters. Sovereign was well aware of what they were doing and that they were killing organics.

Well, they failed. If you want to achieve that, all you have to do is attack the synthetics directly.
For example. Quarians create Geth. Geth chase Quarians off their homeworld. Reaper swings by and obliterates the Geth. Problem solved.

Because the plot is just BS. No logic. No sense. Not fit with the basic tone of ME story. Catalyst and the Reaper are the most stupid creatures in the universe.

Which as the Reapers show, already are.

Sure they may be made of alien people goo but they are basically machines.

Part of the reaper purpose is ensuring that new life has a chance to flourish and grow. In order for this to happen, old life needs to be destroyed.

This is an interpretation that is not stated anywhere in the game.
As long as we're making crap up, I submit that the Reapers are powered by hamster treadmills.

...adding this to the list of reasons the ending doesn't make sense. My God, how is it that none of he reviews have picked up on this, let alone BioWare themselves?
It seems very... pis-poor quality-wise to let stuff like this get through.

I'm sorry about your hostility. But the Catalyst does say that.

That doesn't even imply that this is their purpose, that is a side effect of their main goal.

Right so by that logic, every mum should die after giving birth for her child to have a chance to flourish.

Makes perfect sense.

Reapers WTF are you doing get the hell off my mum!
