People keep saying that it's possible to get this through single player alone, but I don't believe them.  What is the general consensus on here about that?  I did practically everything and ended up with 3,575 EMS.

Did you port any of your games from ME1 & 2? That might make a difference.

I'm not sure what's the magic number for Master & Commander achievement, I had 4,033 EMS, my readiness was 56%(friend kept bugging me to play MP) I got it when I started the point of no return at Cronos Station

Yes, I did.  I did all of the DLC in all of the games, too.

Multiplayer isn't a viable option for some people.

Basically, it sounds like 4000 EMS is the threshold for Master and Commander.

I ended up with 3550 or so EMS after scanning every world and only picking a few bad choices throughout the game. I do not believe it possible to get the best ending with just single player action after experiencing it myself firsthand. This was my original ME1 and ME2 save import.

I imported my M1/ME2 Shep and I have 5000 and I am on Thesia at the moment, there are still some things that I can do for quests from Citedal people.

Sucks that this triggers at the Cerberus base. I had ~6400 TMS going into Cronos station but 50% readiness. Just did 2 nights worth of MP to get readiness to 100% before heading to Earth to get ready for the ending and would have had this one if it was actually triggered at the final battle.

pretty sure i had around 4300 ems without mp. Found all war assets via scan. Did all the support conversations, had all the fleets (apart from full salarian), had all the me2 squad as assets (those that can be anyway), did all the n7s and hub missions, even had the batarian chap from bring down the sky. was a full paragon as well thruout all 3 MEs

It should be possible to get every trophy/achivement by just playing ME3 alone, having to import the characther from ME2 to get it is stupid.
I did import my characther from ME2 and I did get most of the war assets and still didn`t get the trophy.
Plus it`s not possible to play ME on PS3, so if they`ve made a trophy where you`re supposed to have played ME to get it is retarded.

Edit: Actually, I missed some side mission where I could get more assets, so yeah :P
The Barla Von volus guy for example, I forgot about him.

I ended up getting 3500-600 EMF.

You're wrong.  Your statement has been proven false a dozen times over.  It's impossible to break 4000 EMS even if you meta-game the trilogy and make all of the "best" decisions for war assets.

theoretically there is no limit to your EMS if you kept promoting multiplayer characters to single player, +75 per promotion.

Some people can't play multiplayer...  I have a satellite connection.  It's not an option.

Sorry to dig up an older thread - but does anyone know what the perameters of this achievement are? In my last playthrough, before I initiated the final Cerebrus Headquarters mission/ Priority Earth, I played the ME Infiltrator app and uploaded enough intel to bump my galactic readiness to 62.5% which also brought my EMS over 4000 (forget exactly how much over, but I don't remember seeing any 0's). Also got one Ex-Cerebrus asset. Double checked the War Map before jumping into the final missions and all my stats were up (as mentioned above), but the achievement never popped. Did I initiate it too late? Should I have gotten more intel?

I can only think of a few things because  you should have gotten the  achievement the moment you began the assault on the TIM's base. You could try getting a higher readiness higher readiness = more of your assets going into your EMS . 4000EMS is the magic number you need. There is also a glitch were the game dosen't take in your assets it can be fixed by saving the game exit the game back the main menu and then load up the save game. and the only other thing I could think of is you confused your TMS with EMS.

I thought you had to channel Russell Crowe to get that one?

Definitely didn't confuse TMS with EMS, and definitely had over 4000 EMS. I don't play MP (so I mostly pay attention to EMS), and this was a ME2 import NG+ Insanity run. The max EMS I can usually get with an import (in SP alone) is somewhere in the mid 3000s. As many of you know, the game is bugged so 4000 EMS (/8000 TMS at 50%) isn't possible without MP or external apps.

Like I said before, I double and triple checked my EMS/TMS/GR in-game at the War Terminal before I went to Cerbrus HQ. I was confident the chievo should pop, so I'm pretty sure I just got glitched.

I have over 7,000 assets and 100% Galatic Readiness as well as perfecting the previous two games, and I still don't have this achievement. All my friends do and their advice isn't helping. This is my last achievement to get.

You need to start the Assault on the Cerberus base.
