I was actually fairly impressed with that. I would have enjoyed that ending (though, lets be honest, if we didn't have the current ending to compare it to, we probably wouldn't have been the most satisfied).
I also don't think you would have seen the scale of discontent that you are seeing now though

Anyway, I had no problem with the premise of the bittersweet endings in this game. It's just that the presentations were crappy.

No, I don't want the Reapers to be beaten by cliche super weapon. Collect all the pieces, put'em in the Citadel and you win!
As opposed to 'pick a color and everyone dies'?

My personal favorite I want to track down. The poster said what I was thinking.
Basically it gives a option 4, let the battle play out and tell that child being to go **** himself.

here's one with nothing added, just editing the stupid kid out...
This is my favorite alternate ending. This is how I wanted it to end.

As opposed to questioning whether or not the events of the franchise have led to your Shepard believing peace between organics and synthetics is possible, a commentary on game design, and freeing organic life from the Relays which were fundamentally a system of control, and giving us back self determination? Yup. I have problems with the game, but 'Reaper killing device' solves none of them.

Heh, fair enough. I'm actually with you on that - I simply feel that the video I linked is WAAAAAAAY better than the tripe we were given. That was all the point I was trying to make.
