I'm curious as to which weapons people prefer to use, be it because they're the best (In your opinion), the ones you enjoy using the most, the most satisfying effects or possibly the best looking.

I'm kind of enjoying the Geth sniper rifle a lot, and the Spike Thrower just feels so satisfying when you blow off a Phantom's head with it or nail a maruader to the wall.

Edit: To clarify, I'm wondering which weapons you prefer in Campaign and prefer to upgrade right away.

Not exactly what you meant, but:  Singularity + Warp Combo for a bomb. (Adept class)  For the two times I actually fired bullets, I used an SMG (N7 Gear).

I'm wondering which weapons you upgrade and usually stick with in Campaign. Since you can't realistically afford to upgrade them all.

Snipers: Black Widow for traditional sniping
Raptor if you are looking for a light weight quality AR/sniper hybrid.

Pistols: Talon, if you don't want the weight issues of a shotty, this makes an excellent husk killer.

Shotgun: spike launcher just seems to be where its at.

AR: (honorable mention to the raptor above, which, imo can completely replace an AR)
Chakram is awesome especially combined with cryo ammo.
Particle once charged is lights out
vindicator is prolly the best damage/weight of the AR class
mattock gets props for accuracy and tighter firing control.

SMG: I am kinda meh on these. Hornet seems pretty decent though.

I used the Predator until I had enough credits to buy the Paladin heavy pistol. I really didn't use my gun that much. As someone previously said, Singularity (Liara) + Warp is insanely overpowered. Pretty much coasted through the game on Normal spamming that combo.

Why is Chakram best with cryo because its freezes very often? I might give Javik the Chakram just for kicks next time since I have almost maxed cryo.

What about the scorpion?

Scorpion w/scope for Adept.

Step one: locate shielded (Marauder/Centurion/Nemesis/Engineer/Geth) enemy.

Step two: hit them with Liara's Stasis + Scorpion + double Throw

Step three: watch Biotic explosion chain with Scorpion explosion(s). Fun for the entire family!

(Step four: profit???)

Chakram is great with cryo for 2 reasons. The first is that its uncharged blast is sort of shotgun like so you can freeze multiple targets from time to time. But the main reason is because of the secondary blast after hitting the targets. Your initial blast does damage and freezes stuff and then a few seconds later it blows them up.

As for the scorpion, I really didn't use it in actual combat because I don't like the delayed damage. Unlike the chakram which does damage on the shot and the blast, scorpion only does damage after a delay.

Not just the fact that it has a high freeze rate, but the freeze damage bonus also applies to the explosion on the very shot that froze the target.

It's also a high freeze rate weapon, with high damage potential, that quickly and often automatically takes advantage of the damage bonus from Cryo ammo.

Charged shots bypass Guaridan Shields, and rapid fire rate and reload has the enemy taking damage continually (You'll be back up and ready to fire again right after your last blade detonates.)

This baby is my go-to on Vanguard. I gave up a shotgun for it because it has high DPS at all ranges and low weight.

Does anyone know if we keep the mods for our weapons if we use ng+, and If we don't what do we keep?

My Go-To weapon for Vanguard is the Scemitar shottie, 8 rounds, lightweight, decent power.

Good for groups of smaller less powerful enemies with enough power to tackle the big boys.

With my Infiltrator, I just used the Mantis Sniper Rifle until I finally got a Widow on Thessia. I did buy the Black Widow but then regreted it. For the weight and damage, I prefered the Mantis until I got the real Widow.

For Vangaurd, I am just using the N7 Pistol and rarely ever fire it, lol. CHARGE! CHARGE! CHARGE! Making Liara plop stasis bubbles everywhere and Garrus sheild/barrior stripping with Overload goes a long way. We slaughter everything.

Widow, with Vindicator as a backup weapon. Vindicator is a great AR for such a light weight, with just the two I have a decent cooldown bonus.

On my infiltrator, I run with just the black widow. It insta-kills almost everything and has 3 shots. My sentinel uses a vindicator and a Paladin and still has 200% cooldown.

My Vanguard's Go-To-Weapon is the Katana Shotgun and the Shuriken SMG.

I really do not understand why when I mod my other Shotguns, they turn into ugly yellow or ugly green, only the Katana looks pretty with mods. That and the 200% power Cooldown bonus :P

I use the Vindicator/Paladin combo on my Sentinel as well. I don't pull the Paladin out too often, usually just to scope something at range real fast, but there's no reason not to carry it when it doesn't increase your power cooldowns.

I can't say enough good things about the Vindicator. It's extremely lightweight, does excellent damage, has great accuracy. The only downside is the recoil, but you can compensate with a stability mod. The Argus outclasses it in terms of damage, but it's less accurate, much heavier, has a slower ROF, and has a much longer reload time.

Not really complaining, but Chakram is probably one of the most overpowered guns. For whatever reason, the discs ignore guardian shields, the gun itself weighs next to nothing. On my soldier I could basically have adrenaline rush up at all times and proceed to annihilate anything. Mind you I was playing on normal, but I tried many of the other guns and most of them just don't compare to the Chakram.

Assuming they fix the endings and I play another run through on insanity, Chakram would be the way to go.

My go-to for the vanguard was the Geth Plasma Shotgun. I feel like the Graal Spike Thrower never seems to shoot where I'm pointing. May need to take it to the range and sort that out.

100% this. Chakram is pretty insane, and pretty much renders the Falcon obsolete (at least for Shepard, where the weight capacity matters. With ARush,  my soldier can take downa Banshee solo on Hardcore using only 2-3 magazines. It's insane.

@Dreseden

That's odd, because the Graal is my other go to gun. With heavy barrel and a smart choke, its range rivals that of the assault rifles. The fact it's a lot lighter than the Crusader and Claymore really helps too. If you're having trouble aiming, make sure lead your target a little. The spikes do not instantly hit the target.

Oh and one other thing. Releasing the trigger to fire a charged shot with ANY WEAPON does not break tactical cloak, just like in ME2. Which means Graal or Geth Shotgun + Infiltrator = Ultimate Win. Eat spikes, Kai Leng!
