I might even say Infiltrator, but that was my first class, and I'd rather use another class for my second playthrough, which will be on Insanity. Any suggesstions?
Best class for Insanity?

Adept. I haven't really had to fire my gun. Spec'd for combos, it's pretty interesting.

"Interesting" is an understatement. I prefer the word "craaaaaaaaaaazy".
1 second cooldown on Singularity and Throw = biotic explosion every 2 seconds. Big enemies like the Atlas go down quick with Warp ---> Throw spam, which also results in an explosion. Non-stop explosions!

Indeed.
I've been sticking with Warp/Throw combos, but I have used Singularity/Throw more often against the Reaper ground enemies now that I've got all three at level 6 now.

Did my first insanity run on sentinel. As long as you bring mates like Garrus and Vegeta (should've named him) you'll go HAM

sentinel is bauss with aoe overload, warp-throw combo, and lift-grenade throw combo. i found the Raptor more effective than any AR, and kept myself at long range. i brought EDI for maxed out incinerate, and Garrus for his insane weapon damage and sticky mine.
just imported my vanguard. it's loads of fun, but nowhere near as strategic as my sentinel.

I ME2, the soldier's adreneline rush saved me a bunch of times.

Haven't played them all yet, but adept was very powerful. Just use combos and everything dies pretty easily. Also, a handful of biotic grenades at close range will drop big enemies REALLY fast.

Adept is crazily powerful. Spec'd for power damage and watch the fireworks fly with biotic combos. Equip the M99 Saber V with a scope and you practically have a sniper/biotic hybrid.

Soldier would be good. Use the particle rifle
Adrenaline Rush - r6 power use
Inferno ammo - r6 explosive burst
Combat Mastery - r6 weapon mastery (+40% ammo powers applies to explosive burst)
Energy Drain as a bonus power, this plugs a major weakness with the build: shields & barrier
Vega with explosive burst ammo and particle rifle makes a good squad mate.

Hard to say but my favourites is Vanguard (power damage) which means i ignore weapon damage and upgrades power when i have the chance and then use charge//nova as my primarly weapon and yes it works very good on even insanity but keep a real good weapon for banshees if you need it and secondly i really like Raptor Infiltrator insanley powerful in the right hand just max cloak damage and class tree damage.

I played through as engineer without too much struggle, you have powers for every enemy type, but I'm still stuck at the ending, but thats a whole different scenario, for combat I found the engineer is well suited for anything.

Soldier because of adrenaline rush. Helps so much in ME2, though it's a lot more limited in ME3 it still helps you get out of those certain situations to run across the room.

I think Vanguard would be the easiest on Insanity....
I only had to take cover in less than... I think 10 specific encounters. Basically running around bull rushing everything to oblivion.
The worst thing the enemies can do to me is to deflate my ego by "forcing" me into cover; darn you Engineer turrent and Harvesters... I do not think other classes can say the same.. tho I havent played all classes.. I seriously doubt it.
Hah, on Thessia, I even charged killed the Avengers which are supported by 2 Harvester. I only die when I ran out of target to charge

I have played with the Infiltrator, Vanguard, Adept and Engineer now. Adept is definitely the strongest one and actually pretty much overpowered when specced for detonations. I ran through the levels so fast and didn't care about my squadmates at all. Vanguard probably comes second. I died a few more times because he couldn't get a lock on to charge or something stupid like that.

Running through it as Infiltrator on my first playthrough, fairly easy game on Insanity compared to ME2 so far.. bullettime on scope down makes everything really easy especially with the 3round burst sniper, excellent for taking out shielded enemies in 1 or 2bursts, allthough I just could afford the black widow sniper and I killed a brute in 4shots with it, might stick with that instead.
I'm running with Warp Ammo "Liara friendship bonus" as my bonus power. Sabotage is great even at rank 1, put it on a geth pyro/rockettrooper / cerberus turret and you have a free powerfull friend.

Vanguard is great fun, adept very powerful but boring (lift, throw, lift, throw...), sentinel is strategic and diverse.
