I saved the Rachni from extinction, made Legion's Geth stronger, destroyed the Collectors, solved the Krogan and Turian hatred between each other, created peace between the Quarians and the Geth,  cured the Genophage, found love, and united the entire galaxy against the Reapers. And what do I get? Some deus-ex machina that makes all my efforts pointless and screws everyone over (The Mass Relays' destruction was unecessary), as well as an ending that only leaves more questions instead of answers. I would have been fine with a dark and depressing ending, but all the endings are so ridiculous that it pains me to even think about the Mass Effect trilogy. I mean what was the point of doing all that stuff if the Crucible ultimately decides what happens?! If anything, the Crucible should have only been used to slightly increase your chances of winning, not be the sole decider of the galaxy's fate.

And on three side notes, what on earth is with the Normandy ending? Is my crew going to live the rest if their lives on Monkey Island?! Why must all the Relays blow up? You defeat the Reapers, just to defeat yourself in the process!AND WHAT IS UP WITH THE GOD CHILD CATALYST?! Why does he contradict himself by destroying all organic life with synthetics if he is trying to avoid the destruction of organics by synthetics??!! :crying::crying::crying:

Yes in the end NONE of your choices matter at all. That hurts so much in a game that makes you think and promises you that everything you do means something. It doesn't- it was a lie, plain and simple.

I still consider the road I traveled as important.

I know people wanted our choices to matter more in the finale, but I always loved meta gaming to much to care.

Well, maybe Joker will assume control of the marooned Normandy crew by forcing everyone else to eat toxic food while living out a juvenile fantasy.

Heavy risk, but the priiiiiize.

Essentially yes. You do however get to see old friends just before they die/kill themselves, and the Normandy ending makes no sense to anyone.

Yep... that feeling (or lack thereof as I'm essentially numb)... I recognize it.

13 hours later and it has only gotten worse.

At least Joker hooked up with EDI. Oh wait that's right EDI is dead. So yeah it was for nothing. <_<

The ending made me feel sad as hell.  It's ****ing depressing!  In fact, it's so sad that I can't bring myself to even finish the game anymore.  Once is enough.  If there ever was a time when "It's not the destination, it's the journey" applied, Mass Effect 3 would be the perfect example.

The journey was absolutely incredible, better than I could have hoped for in a million years.  The destination was the complete opposite: shocking, devastating.

The OP's first sentence of the work he put into the game and the outcome I think sums up everyone's feelings that have been an ME fan from the beginning.
