I've got a nasty feeling in my stomach. Let's pretend ME1 and 2 were a stray kitten I took in. I got kitty his shots got him snipped bought him food ect. The day after he gets snipped he gets hit by a car. All my time and effort were wasted. That's how I feel.

I like your analogy, but it is inclomplete. I would add this:

Now imagine you knew with 100% certainty that every stray kitten you'll take in in the future will eventually be hit by a car. (You can decide wether it is a blue, a green or a red car though)

I still need time to get over it. Crazy thing to say about a computer game.

Exactly. I honestly still can't belive bioware did this to us. the people who made kotor, jade empire, mass effect 1 and 2, most of my favorite games just gave their most devoted fans the middle finger. I hope I never reach the point of acceptance on this betrayal.

I'll never be able to make a decision in any of the Mass Effect games without thinking about how pointless it is. The civilization is destroyed, the character is dead, his friends and companions our lost, the alliances were meaningless.

How could they have made the game so right until the last five minutes? What happened in development?

Honestly? Not much better.

It REALLY depressed the heck outta me. Any time I think of playing ANY of the games, I get a sick feeling in my stomach.

I don't think I can play these games ever again...

And yes, I'm being serious. Mock me all you want, but it's how I feel.

Same here.

I don't understand how a game can do this to me, affect me so much and make me feel so utterly depressed. I mean, it's a testament to how well written the entire trilogy is (except, you know, for the ending) that I got so attached to the characters and to this wonderful universe, but... there I was last night, having a good time with my friends, laughing with them and not thinking about ME3 at all, and on the drive back home I looked up at the stars (don't worry, I wasn't the one driving!), and suddenly thought of Shepard. And then that sick feeling in my stomach came rushing back.

It is not a nice feeling. At. All. And feeling like this at the end of a trilogy that mattered so much to me makes me feel very sad.

Here are some polls, to let your opinions be heard. The links can be accessed from the link to my blog in my Sig in my ME3 review.

1. would you Boycott Bioware if they don't fix the endings
2. do you believe Multiplayer should have no impact on the single player campaign
3. Facebook Campaign demand better endings for ME3

Well, I basically wasted about 300 hours of my life for Mass Effect (though they say time you use to do something you enjoy/love is not wasted, but w/e), only to get stabbed in the back with an ending like that. I want to be ****ing angry at BioWare, but truthfully, I only feel sad. Let down. Disappointed. Empty.

Unlikely that I will ever again touch the ME series as long as the ending exists as it does.

If I were to sum up everything I feel in a pic, I think I'd use this one:

I'm still pissed, for mass effect 1 and 2, I bought the DLC, I replayed each game, through several times to with different classes and to do paragon and renegade choices. I was as excited about Mass Effect 3 as anyone, and now, I don't care, I have no desire to replay it, no desire to buy any DLC for it.  Bioware has shattered my faith in them.  Based on the posts, I am not alone...

When going through the game I was so excited to play my other characters. Hell I was thinking of going through the trilogy back to back for a great experience.

Then I saw the ending and now never want to play ME again. Just the name makes me sick.

Pretty disappointed still. In my mind The Normandy crashed on Earth in the jungle some where. And once Shepard recuperates from his near-death, he'll set out to try and locate his crew and Liara.

PS. Doing another play through cause the game itself is still great.

A few things. First, all the play up to that point was incredible--in all three games. The movement of the plot, the storyline, and especially the scenes. I cought myself more than once just stopping the action to marvel at the beauty of the worlds Bioware created.

Second, the ending of ME3 was so sad only because Bioware did an amazing job of creating characters with some depth. Even more, they created a story that really pulled you in--you were really a part of the story.

At the same time, what was the direction of this story, especially in ME3? It was the idea of the hero--the one who sacrifices for the sake of the good and the welfare of others. So, in the end, Bioware was true to the character they built--allowing him to give the ultimate sacrifice. Shepherd gave his all to save all.

Shepherd does not get to spend the rest of his days on the beach with Liara (anyone who picked a different romantic interest is just wrong!). But in a way, these endings were truer to the character of Shepherd and the whole arc of the story.

While I am sad at the end, no other ending would have been as dramatic or as honest.

I've known about the endings for 5 months now, since the leak. I feel even worse now than then, because I've had enough time to let it properly sink in, and become an accepted normality.

And it still hurts.

Admittedly, the dialogue free stuff that wasn't in the scripts was a fresh kick in the knackers, but it's still been horribly depressing all that time.

So basically, don't expect this to feel any better over time. I think trying to play ME2 a couple of months ago drove that point home rather thoroughly. The franchise is permenantly tarnished now, unless these endings get fixed.

I rushed the game a bit, I could have gone off searching for more war assets, I was like 'I can just play it again straight away' But I just feel like crap, I wish I found everything, I could have lived in ignorance of the upcoming awful ending that leads to depression.

No it was depressing because after 5 years of enjoying a story where we could make a choice, it all boiled down to nothing, and the charecter I made 5 years ago (used my first playthrough) who went through an amazing story line, did it for nothing.

Well after finishing the game I was sort of in shock. Now I refuse to believe the endings actually happened. To me it was an illusion, an attempt by Harbinger to stop Shepard from using the Crucible, and to do so it took the image of the child Shepard couldn't save to play on Shepard's emotions. From there it makes up bull to make Shepard "control" the Reapers but it is actually letting them live, so the Reapers win in that scenario. The hybrid choice actually causes organic races to be turned into Reapers and if war assets are high enough Harby will try that. Destroying the Reapers will stop them but Harbinger lies and states the Geth and EDI will be destroyed in an attempt to stop Shepard from doing it.

It's not perfect but it's better than what we got.

I'll admit, it's pretty sad that two days in a row now I have woken up with the thought of deep disappointment. I might eventually load up the multi-player because it is fun, and $80 is a heck of a lot of money for me to have spent to let it be such a waste...

I can't imagine playing the game again until they fix it though, I mean if I want to see a different ending I just have to reload my last save.

I have emailed EA and told them that until there are better written endings available, I will boycott Bioware. With all this time and money I could have learned the basics of a new language or guitar...or crochet....

I also admit that I doubt they'll fix it.

Honestly? I feel pretty fine. Shepard stopped the Reapers, and lived to tell about it. Not to mention the Galaxy, though cut-off, is looking pretty bright.

That, and Emily and Garrus need to see if biology will let them have a kid!

I really felt like a lunatic getting this upset over a video game. I have taken what solace I can in the people of these boards. It is nice to know that I wasn't the only one upset over the horrible end to one of the greatest stories I've experienced in any media (This coming from someone who holds their Masters in Literature o.o)

I'm still perfectly fine with the endings. I love the whole sacrifices being made for the greater good aspect in most cases, I can sympathize with the people who don't like it however and I'm sorry that you don't. I still however praise Bioware for the boldness of it, I think they went into this ending expecting this kind of reaction from people though as they even mentioned several times that not everyone is going to like the ending.

Of course they won't fix it, with as many people they have on the forums complaining about the ending, you shoudl read the twitter fead, there are people who, like me, are praising it all over the place. But really what game company ever fixed the ending people didn't like? None to date.

I have been proccessing for a few days... going through the stages of grief... I have reached acceptance... however I have now found myself no longer having any desire to play ANY computer/Video games... not one... no longer looking forward to new releases from other game companies.

Bioware has made me want to give up a hobby I have had going back 30 years to when I got my attari back in the early 80s.

Machines coming to kill organics so that they dont go to war with machines?  What?
Normandy fleeing for no reason in the middle of a giant battle to save their home planet and the universe?  What?
Party members that were charging the beam with me are on the normandy now?  Did someone just swoop in 100 yards infront of harbinger and carry them out without getting blown to hell?  Ya right.
Mass relays getting destroyed from a blue beam designed to control the reapers?  What?
Mass relays getting destroyed at all.
Instantly turn the universe into half man, half robot?  What?

Im to lazy to type out anymore but ya.  Unless someone is 9 years old and partially brain dead, I dont see how they can possibly appreciate this ending.

Hell an ending where you get completely destroyed and only find a sure way to warn the next cycle would be 5000x times better than this, and thats about the worst ending you could possibly have.  It would at least make sense.

Boldness isn't the problem.  Absolute sloppyness and awfulness is.

....you really think it's bold? I'm not trying to be rude but did you play the ME1 and 2 games? All they did was rip off a mix of Deus Ex and Matrix Revolutions and throw into Mass Effect with no warning right at the very end. Everything you thought the game was about gets a giant dump taken on it for a cliche, shallow ending with little to no thought. Cookie cutter endings with 0 real variety like ME2 had.

I dunno, I just don't see where the boldness comes from... it looked sloppy and rushed to me.
