That'll teach me to ever get attached to a character I made in a Bioware game.

I'm still incredibly depressed about the whole thing...and I'm dying to play the game again. I'd love to run through the missions and catch things I didn't on my first run. Then I think about the ending, and I just can't bring myself to pick up the controller.

lol the light on my laptop to say it's charging is blue... Whilst sleeping last night I opened my eyes to face it, then quickly rolled over to the other side because I thought I was trying to be indoctrinated..... Sad?
Ahhh... what this game has done to me.

This thread makes me incredibly sad. Not because of the game's endings, but because my generation is apparently leading such unimportant and responsibilty free lives that 10 minutes at the end of a video game is enough to keep them depressed for days.
Seriously, get a grip guys.
Just because someone is upset about an unsatisfying ending to one of the best stories of this generation, doesn't mean they lead "unimportant lives." Some people's lives are bogged down with responsibility, and this game was a break from reality, an opportunity to escape everyday life and enjoy an elaborate story. Since that story is effectively meaningless after the ending, it can be depressing.
Don't assume to know someone based on what makes them upset. It just makes you look like an idiot.

If this is the last post I write, let it be known that I love my first 2 ME endings very much, and I'll miss them when I'm gone. Oh god, I can see the starchild again... there's a light... should I go towards it?

All the while through my initial playthrough, I was thinking about how awesome it'd be to do a second, entirely different, playthrough - since choices matter, amirite. My therapy for dealing with this sham of an ending is reading about how other people in the same situation feel about this whole ordeal.

I get people being upset at the endings. I was upset too. But I've already read more than one post say they cried for a few days and one I just read said they lost their appetite. I'm sorry, but if a video game ending is enough to get you to this sad for days, then you literally have nothing else of importance going on in your life.
I just had a son and my wife and I just bought a house. Video games are my escapism. I have been a huge fan of Mass Effect since the first one. I didn't like the endings to this one. But I've still got to figure out how to be a good father and pay the bills. With all my real life worries, ten minutes at the end of an otherwise excellent video game is not enough to get me depressed for days and I'm not tougher than any of you.

Agreed, furthermore, everyone has their hobbies & passions. Who are you to say just "a video game"?
I dont beleive in putting anyone down about the things they enjoy. Or putting people down about anything for that matter. So im being partially hypocritical with this statement i'm about to make,
Good on you for being outspoken. Not only do you now look like an idiot, but also a very sour person.

a fictional character, alright, but the human mind has this amazing power called
fantasy. It has the power to create entire worlds, human beings, everything you can imagine, all inside
your head. I mean...c'om this IS amazing if you think about it!
So much for all the people complaining about "it's just a game, get over it!"
I don't want to get over it. It is just a game...but it tells a story, and like any good story, it should make you feel. and sadly, i felt a lot after the ending. Mostly disbelief, than anger, hatred, dissapointmend, sadness..
How many games can claim that for themselves? Not a lot, I am sure...
Yet still, these endings...I refuse to accept them. I refuse to let them be the conclusion to all this. It cannot be, it is a bad joke.
And all my hopes are now that Bioware is indeed joking. That they are pulling the greatest marketing gag in game history. That within days or weeks Bioare will release a little DLC called" Did you really think this was the end?"
What gives me hope is how unreal all of the citadel feels. Shep getting hit by that beam...then her armor...and Anderson...and that kid from her own subconscious...and why did they explicitly mention that Harbinger is coming himself down to earth, if he didn't have anything to do? Not a single line?
Maybe...hopefully, all we saw was just Harbingers way of indoctrinating Shep...A DLC could easily step in here, and give us a far more interesting ending...Also, every ME so far had some epic boss-battle in the end...ME3? Just dialogue? No last gun-blazing action? Nothing?
I refuse to believe this...and for the days to come now I will hope...hope, that is what Shep is preaching throughout the entire series...and for now, I will listen to her, believe in her...maybe she is right...

I for one, and am apparently the only one, enjoyed the ending, it was a perfect end to the Shepard story. I can not wait for the next chapter. So the relays got destroyed, so the Normandy is stranded.... Think of all the epic sci-fi movies that end on a downer only to come back in the next chapter and whoop some serious intergalactic butt. I am currently on my NG+ and will still play it for a long time, because the endings are great the way they are. I am looking forward to the DLC missions also.
You aren't the only one. I found it a satisfying conclusion.

If your life was as you claim it to be, you wouldn't spend your spare time badgering people about how they feel over the internet.

Even though the voice acting was kinda cheesy, I really really liked the stargazer (or was it the kid?) calling him "The Shepard."
