Also a question about the Normandy Crash Ending.

So far as I could tell, and I've only done one playthrough so far, Normandy crashes no matter what happens. You see Joker trying really hard to steer the ship while they are in the middle of a FTL jump, but the explosion overtakes them and they crash.

So in my ending Joker walks out of the Normandy, followed by Kaiden and Garrus.... and those are the only people I see. Now that made no sense to me what so ever because Kaiden and Garrus were with me in the final assault. They charged the Reaper with me... so shouldn't they be dead like all the others that charged?

Also, right before Shepard dies she has a flash of three images... Joker, Anderson, and Kaiden... Why would she think about those arbitrary people and not the others? If it was a matter of who she was doing this for then why include Anderson who had just died?


So is the planet with two moons that are way way too close supposed to be some sort of afterlife and they are actually dead?
