Let's forget about the likes/dislikes regarding he ending for a moment.   I am curious, which ending would you chose, if you were in Shepard's position?  I can't decide what I want my canon femshep's ending to be.  I think destroy makes the most sense for her character, but I think merge/synthesize is what I would choose if I were in that position.

What would you choose and why?  What do you think the implications of each choice are?  I know that the endings are very similar in the game, but there are serious differing implications to each ending.  I had a long discussion with a friend about what we would do.  He said he would let the reapers kill all life so it could start anew.  I think I would have chosen syntheses, because it would allow the most people to survive IMO.  Thoughts?

I would not. Whatever the outcome, I would not submit to this genocidal maniac and his plans.
I would not betray the Geth. I would not join the Reapers. I would not force a new paradigm on a galaxy of individuals. I would not annihilate galactic society to "save" it.

I would find another way. If there is no other way, then so be it, I'd rather die on my feet and storm heaven than on my knees to a self appointed machine god with the logical capabilities of a pocket calculator.

Haha yea, my friend basically said that he felt the reapers had a purpose, and maybe it would be best for the galaxy if it were cleansed every so often so things could start anew.
