Because of these silly headphones, my earrings were bugging me. I took my headphones off for a moment and tenderly nursed my aching lobes back to health.
Then, I had an epiphany.... EARRINGS FOR MY AVATAR WHAT?!

I think it would be sweet. And I don't know much about 3D modeling and whatnot, but I think it'd be pretty easy to do, right? I mean, they're not too big, and they won't be moving around. At least they shouldn't be. Dangly earrings wouldn't work out in battle, so that's a nono. But like, your standard studs and jeweled studs, huggies and small hoops, gauges (for the most part.)

What do you guys think?

A small hoop can be added to your character a la Duncan via the Toolset. How exactly, is beyond me. Rest assured that it can be done however.

Sure, we already get tatoos... and as mentioned above, Duncan has an earring too. Wonder if they'll ever release upgrades to the character creator, or if players will have to do that themselves, hmh..

I don't know anything about modding, but I would assume it'd be easy enough? I'd love a nice big earring mod with lots of different types, styles and colors... mmm...

There are some technical issues here I think. You really can't edit a morph to include an earring, as one of the caveats of morphs is that they require that the complexity of the geometry remains unchanged (at least all the ones I've worked with). That leaves things that are technically morphs, like beards, things that just attach a mesh to the face, but unless we can include new sliders, you'd have to replace an existing one with the jewelry, and what can be lost? The beard slider could be lost for females, but as far as I can tell, it cannot be accessed by females, even in the toolset. Maybe I'm overthinking it, and this isn't a problem if we can add new sliders that add new geometry to the face, just some issues I see.

You could also conceivably use equipment as your jewelry, but then you'd lose an equipment slot, and I'm not sure things like rings can have a visible mesh attached to them, so you may be stuck with choosing between earrings or pants. An interesting dilemma if there ever was one.

If it's any consolation, I have been and usually am wrong, just musing based on my rather basic modeling experience and the sort of thing I've see in other games. I just had another thought though, you could theoretically attach jewelry to the hair model, so when you chose the hair, you'd get the jewelry as well. This would require you use the hair that it is attached to, but with enough modder attention, the selection could be respectable.

Yeah, I was thinking about that. But it'd be a lot to scroll through in the slider if there are a few different types of earrings. ):

Yeah, it would something like what the toolset wiki has on the morph page where all the common selections have pictures, so you can just match the file name to the desired option without having to cycle through them all. This is of course assuming you're making your morphs in the toolset, but if you're not, come on, catch up with the 21st century.

I mean on the slider in character creation. Nothing to do with the toolset. Or, whatever you were talking about. I'm confused. Nevermind.

What I really would love it's a possibility of custom clothes worn by our hero at least similar to the scale it's done in LOTRO; I like vivid RP so I want my mage to wear a nice robe or kind of suit, but also a cloak, scarf, I wan't my warrior to be scarfaced, Elf lady with a crown on her head etc. I think it's not much I'm asking, but makes every character different.

Your desire will take patience, time, and an import tool.

Soon, my friend. Soon.

earrings on the pointy tip of elf's ears would be sweet indeed.

Ahhh omg clothes. All this talk of aesthetically pleasing characters makes me want to roleplay. Someone needs to make a nice roleplay mod with jewelry and clothes and all that good stuff. Ahh, I wish I could mod...
